'In the beginning' is translated from the Hebrew 'ray-sheeth'. (Strongs 7225) Most Hebrew words have a range of meanings which makes translation very subjective. This word 'ray-sheeth' is associated with the beginning of a harvest, the first-fruits. I find this intriguing because the next word is 'bara', translated 'to create, which means to cut, divide, stab, dispatch. (Ezek 23:47) Therefore we might read in Gensis 1:1, 'To get His first fruits (His harvest) God had to divide the spiritual from the physical.' The Heavens from the Earth. Yours and His, in Him, Palmoni |
