1 | What is the meaning of Verse 1? | Gen 1:1 | oscar | 30833 | ||
When God created the Time, he creates the space and the matter. He create them in that order, because with no time there is no space and the space was need for the matter to expand on the space. Hard to understand a Universe with no time, but there was no universe, until God create time. This is the reason why we understand that God is not a subject of time, but in Him resides the cause of time. We can go on and on, over this verse, it is very rich and it has a lot of physical meaning. With out time, there is no motion, there is no parts. That's why God is a Unity, with no parts, therefore he fills up all the space. With no space we cannot think of matter. This verse explain the creation, when God said "Lets there be light", and the logical sequence of creation. Oscar |

If you find a reference to Verse 1, let me know it. I recommend you to read one of the Sagas of Jews, Mosses Ben Maimonides and you will find an inspired interpretation, that you could even love. Nonetheless, Verse 1, is enough by itself. Oscar |

Scripture reference(s), please. When you post a note asserting your interpretation or opinion, the burden of proof is on you, not me. It is absurd for you to ask me to find support for what you have written. There is no way in the world that Genesis 1:1 supports what you say in your previous post. Moreover, the writings of Maimonides are no more inspired than the writings of Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, or Charles Darwin. |

Kelos, To compare Mosses Ben Maimonides with Karl, Freud and Darwin, is something that doesn't make any sense. To qualify the inspiration of such a Saga, the way you do it, show me only two things: you are brighter and more inspired than him; or, you are a fool and an ignorant. I prefer to think the first. Many scholars use Maimonides writings as a reference, he made inferences about the earth being an sphere, much before Columbus; he interpreted Creation around de 1400 as being an explosion, the same way that modern physics says "it is the only way" (the Big Bang); he was very respected by Christians and in his days the Roman Catholic Church could not burn him, because he was so respected; his work is full of references to the Pentatheuc that can give us light in many more different subject. There is no a serious Bible student that doesn't know about him. I want to believe that you have read his "Guide for the Perplex", since you already compare him with Karl, Freud and Darwin. you could surprise the world with something better, and I think we all could benefit with your contribution. From your comments it shows it could be better and more inspired than his work. If you did not read him, it will be good to do it, so you can talk with more authority. I respect Mamom, if you know who he is, and I read many of the Jews, they have the advantage of the language and the Masoretic text, and beleive me, they are the people of God also, and many of them are also Christians. Let's do not make this difference of views a personal matter. If I there is nothing to say, the best alternative is to say nothing. Maybe we should try it. The peace of our Lord be with you. Oscar |
