Ok...I've heard that without repentence we cannot be saved, but what you say is that faith alone saves us. So how can this be? Through HIM, Toft |

4 | What about repentence though? | Gen 15:6 | srbaegon | 51004
Hello Toft 2 Cor. 7:9-10 (ESV) As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. [10] For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. 2 Tim. 2:24-26 (ESV) And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, [25] correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, [26] and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. Repentance will lead to salvation but does not save. Steve |

5 | What about repentence though? | Gen 15:6 | TOFT | 51006
What about Luke 13:3? "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." KJV Doesn't Jesus say that without repentence we will die? What about Acts 2:38 that tells us "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins" Without our sins remitted can we be saved? Through HIM, TOFT |

6 | What about repentence though? | Gen 15:6 | srbaegon | 51008
Hello TOFT What ABOUT Luke 13:3? I've already quoted that repentance leads to salvation. What ABOUT Acts 2:38? Of course our sins need to be remitted. Steve |

7 | What about repentence though? | Gen 15:6 | TOFT | 51034
How can something lead us to salvation and not be a part of salvation...I am not understanding that. Luke 13:3 says that without repentence we will perish (not saved) so doesn't that mean we need it? In Acts 2:38 Peter tells us to repent. Didn't Jesus say that whatever Jesus bound on earth will also be bound in Heaven? So isn't repentence involved in remission of sins? Through HIM, TOFT |

8 | What about repentence though? | Gen 15:6 | Reformer Joe | 51044
Of course repentance is involved in the remission of sins. Repentance accompanies faith. Repentance is an internal change of disposition toward sin which accompanies true and saving faith alone in Christ alone for salvation. God grants repentance and faith to all those whom He regenerates. He then works in them to bring about good works, the fruit of faith and repentance. --Joe! |
