Hi, skccab... Scripture's ultimate authority is Scripture itself. When the Scripture states that something is a foreshadowed, then we can have confidence that it is a foreshadowing. (For example, Hebrew 8:3-5 treatment of the sacrificial systems described by Moses.) Anything beyond that is pure speculation. That doesn't mean it might not be true... only that it does have the same authority as explicit statements of Scripture. We don't, of course, want to presume to have that kind of authoritive insight into the Word. A lot of error has arisen by such presumption.
