There are two words in the Hebrew, siyach and hagah ... and two in the Greek meletao and promeletao. Siyach means to put forth, mediate, muse, commune, speak, complain, ponder, sing ... as in Psalm 77:6 Hagah means to moan, growl, utter, muse, mutter, meditate, devise, plot, speak ... as in Psalm 1:2 Meletao means to care for, attend to carefully, practise to meditate i.e. to devise, contrive. It was used of the Greeks of the meditative pondering and the practice of orators and rhetoricians ... as in 1 Timothy 4:15. Promeletao means to meditate beforehand. (Pro means before, as in prototype.) ... as in Luke 21:14. Source: http://bible1.crosswalk.com/ ... this is a good study tool.
