1 | what does I thirst mean in the bible | Ps 69:21 | Hank | 81304
Hi, Ray. Yes, of course I agree that water and thirst are used in Scripture in both a literal sense and metaphorical sense, the latter being didactic and often as not cast in the form of parable or other anecodote illustrative of spiritual truth. Our Lord used with consummate skill commonplace things such as bread and water, seeds and soil, to teach spiritual things. With the touch of a supremely masterful artist, Christ used the common things of life as His thread and wove them into beautiful tapestries that give us the best glimpse man has ever had of what the kingdom of God is like. --Hank

Hi Hank, What then do you say of my connecting John 19:34, 7:39, and 4:14, with the idea of a lower case "spirit"? Consider also John 3:5 with a lower case "spirit". Here is John 3:5 as I am considering it: "Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." From the heart, Ray |
