If God can't or doesn't want to be in the presence of sin, why does satan have access to Heaven?

Greetings chynna! Can God look upon sin? I believe that the answer here is 'Yes'. The basis for my conclusion is Genesis 6:5, Job 34:21-22 and Luke 12:2-3.. If nothing can be hidden from God, then this also means that He knows each and every one of each man's sins and is aware of them as well as the effect that each sin has- our separation from Him. So not only can He 'see' our sin, but He is aware of it because of our spiritual separation from Him that is a result of our sin. God is perfect and without sin, and sin is defined in 1 John 5:17 as 'all unrighteousness'. Jesus became 'all unrighteousness' for us on the cross, bearing all upon Himself that separates us from God- becoming a symbol (crucified on a tree) and bearing God's wrath- causing God to forsake the sin that He took upon Himself. Then Jesus died (as all men have to die once, and then the judgment- Christ being the only perfect sacrifice) and then rose on the third day! After which He walked the earth for forty days after His Resurrection and ascended to the right hand of God the Father in heaven. Why does Satan have access to Heaven? It is apparently clear that Satan has not been denied the freedom to present himself before God and to exchange in discourse with Him (Job 1:6, 2:1). Satan is the "accuser" (Rev. 12:1), and he is busy reminding God and Christians of their past sins.. However, Christians respond to these accusations emphatically by reminding Satan of his future (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10). Satan's activities are limited by the sovereign control of God (Job 1:12; 2:6), and Satan will ultimately be denied access from heaven (Rev. 20:2), even though he enjoys this freedom temporarily. As for "why" Satan has this freedom, we can only speculate on that answer, since God alone is able to sufficiently answer that question. Blessings to you, Makarios |

3 | God facing sin (satan) | Job 2:1 | EdB | 37974
Makarios May I jump in here, while I agree with most everything you said, I have a slight problem with, " Satan is the "accuser" (Rev. 12:1), and he is busy reminding God and Christians of their past sins.. However, Christians respond to these accusations emphatically by reminding Satan of his future (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10)." Satan is the accuser and he does stand before God accusing us, but it is not us that answers him but rather Jesus our mediator! Jesus our High Priest stands at the right hand of God and make intercession for us. He is the one that responds to Satan's accusations. Praise God. While I know you know this Makarios, I brought it up not because of the incorrect teaching on spiritual warfare where we tell Satan. Jesus said it all and like you say Makarios we need to stand on Scripture knowing Satan is the defeated foe!!! Praise God! EdB |
