Greetings Aileen, Could you express your take on what it means to believe in Jesus; this could be the reason for your misunderstanding on having one’s name written in the book of life? Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

I have Jewish friends - quite a few of them. Who do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah-Son of God. I worry for them. One of the families lost their son (killed) in Iraq - he was 19. I know for a fact that he did not believe in Jesus. Also, I worry about my Mom ... she passed in 1989 and I know she knew who Jesus was. I believe she was mad at God and Jesus for having been left a widow at a very young age with 4 children to raise. She made us go to church with our Grandmother (her Mom) but she never went - she never spoke of God-Jesus-church nothing. On a brighter note - I love the forum - I am learning lots and thank each and everyone for their answers and helping me to understand the Scriptures. Blessings. Aileen

First, the Lord is the only one who truly knows the condition of a person’s soul. What the Bible says on salvation: Romans 3:10, 23 10as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 10:13 13for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." John 14:6 6Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 1:12 12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, Revelation 3:20 20'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Romans 10:9 9that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; (NASB) |

Thank you for your answer ... it is very good - but it still leaves me wondering about those people(s) who do not accept Jesus as their Savior - i.e., the people(s) of the Jewish faith who (to my understanding) think that Jesus was just a good prophet and not the Son of God and Savior. They haven't confessed Jesus as their Lord - they are still waiting for their Messiah. What happens to them? Especially the ones that have already died. Will they get a second chance (as it were) to redeem themselves and if so where does it say that in the bible? What about Atheist (don't know if that is the correct spelling)? Aileen
