Interpreting Revelation 'Revelation is one of the most mysterious books of the Bible. For centuries people have debated various aspects of the book--for example, the timing of the rapture of the church, the nature of the millennial reign of Christ, and the timing of Christ's return (before, in the middle of, or after the Great Tribulation). And debates have raged over the identity of the Beast, the number 666, and the Great Prostitute. Unfortunately, the debates have fueled such great controversy that Christians have been divided, and churches have even split over these issues. 'Every Christian who approaches this book must realize that if these questions have been debated over centuries, then God probably made them not clear on purpose. Churches and seminaries have made their interpretations of these debated issues part of their doctrinal statements. But they must understand that other Christians who disagree with their positions are doing only that--disagreeing. The positions regarding postmillennialism versus premillennialism do not make a difference as to whether one is a believer or not. The cardinal doctrine is whether a person believes that Christ, the Savior and King, will indeed one day return for his people and whether one has trusted in him as personal Savior. From there, the timing of Christ's return or when the church will be raptured are merely issues for discussion--not fundamental doctrines that affect a person's salvation.' I just finished a study on the book Revelation it took me eight yrs. I came to find out after my study that what I came up with is what the Church beleived for 1800 yrs, not what Dispensationalists Beleive at all. For instance out of 404 Verses of Revelation 287 are direct passages from the Older Testament, and are generally found in your scipture index in the middle of your pages. If the book Revelation was written before 70 AD which is provable from within Scripture, then what all are saying to day is much about nothing. Dispensationalism wasn,t around until Darby 1830s thats not to say thatsome theologians werent premilennial, some were. One must research when it was written before studing it , it opens up a whole wonderful account of how and why God ended Judaism. The dispensational View is also very anti Semetic. When did God end Judaism? Are you speaking of Judaism as religion, heritage or nationality? | ||||||

Well we know that that Nationalistically, Theocracy is over as well as the original Religion of the Jews. Judaism as a whole is totally changed since no more sacrifices can be made since 70 AD. So yes two both questions. Love in Christ Jesus RC |

Hi RC, Thank you for your reply, but I must disagree for the most part. Judiasm as a "religion" has indeed come full circle - but as a nationality and a heritage, I must disagree. Matt. 5:17 Jesus says He has come not to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfil them. And if as a nationality and a heritage it has been ended then just what are we as Christians grafted into? Re-read your Torah (and you'll also find it in the Haftorah). Too many times the word(s) "forever" and "from generation to generation" are used to ignore them (or to try to re-write them into something else). I am a Gentile, but I would be very sad to see the end of God's Chosen People into which I have been grafted and adopted and given the physical and spiritual promises. (As for the temple - I am still confused concerning the Ezek. temple chapters, just what those chapters represent. I would love for someone to explain those to me.) :-) Cheri |

Ezekiel 43:6-11 (6) And I heard one speaking to me from the house. And standing beside me was a Man. (7) And He said to me, Son of man, the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, there where I will dwell among the sons of Israel forever, even the house of Israel shall not defile My holy name any more, they nor their kings, by their fornication, nor by the corpses of their kings in their high places. (8) In their setting of their threshold by My threshold, and their door post beside My door post, and the wall between Me and them, even they have defiled My holy name by their abominations that they have done. And I consumed them in My anger. (9) Now let them put away their fornication and the corpses of their kings from Me, and I will dwell in their midst forever. (10) You, son of man, declare to the house of Israel, the temple house, and they will blush from their iniquities. And let them measure its size. (11) And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, the form of the house, and its arrangement, and its exits, and its entrances, and all its forms, and all its statutes, and all its forms, and all its laws, make them known to them. And write them in their sight, so that they may observe all its form, and all its statutes, and do them. Hi Cheri, This, to me, is the key passage to these chapters. Ezekiel is to declare to Israel the temple God wants them to build, and if Israel is ashamed of all they have done, then they are to fulfill this commandment for the temple, and God will dwell in their midst. So Ezekiel declared this prophecy to them in the Babylonian captivity. But they did not do this, and we still look for the day in which it will happen. Many expect this temple to be built in the millenial kingdom. I'm one of those :-) Does this help? Love in Christ, Mark |

Yes, Mark, It does. That's kinda what I was thinking. And I'm also thinking that He's already gathering together the "fathers" who will raise the generation to do this. Cheri |
