2 | H Priest 12 stones-what significance tod | Revelation | Bauhinia | 189014 | ||
Revelation 21:12, 19, 20 shows that they represent the reality of the "great and high wall [of New Jerusalem], with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel" which had "foundation stones" which "were adorned with every kind of precious stone," twelve in all. Hence, they illustrate the priestly feature of New Jerusalem, "the bride, the wife of the Lamb."--See 2 Corinthians 11:2; Revelation 1:5, 6; 5:9, 10; 20:6; 21:9. |
