So then by participating in this, did I enter into an adulterous relationship? Was I correct in confronting the man with regards to my convictions? Because this is what I have done. Do I now need to end all contact with this person? Are there specific verses I can read to help me? Thanks you for a speedy and concise answer to my question. I am afraid I became emotionally entangled and my thinking was muddied.
2 | Did I commit adultery? | Titus | DocTrinsograce | 203080
Hi, smallflower... Not everything that is unwise is sinful. I think, in general, men more easily become physically unfaithful and women more easily become emotionally unfaithful. The fact that you are troubled by this relationship is probably an indication of your need to decisively resolve the issue. Even your evaluation of it in your very first post revealed that you were already thinking it through properly. One thing that might clarify things very well for you is to consider: What if all of the interactions, all of your feelings, and all of your attitudes were fully disclosed to your spouses and to your churches? What kind of feelings does that stir in you? Sin always begins in the darkness, but exposed to the full light of day, it whithers and dies. As believers we are creatures of the day, not of the night. Here is something that I wish I had understood years ago: Character is much more easily retained than it is recovered. In Him, Doc |
