Greetings Jdjazz, Paul addresses the letter "To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus:" (Ephesians 1:1), so we could say that Ephesus was 'the' destination or, at the very least, 'a' destination of this letter. The letter itself is only addressed to the Ephesians. "However, this was probably a circular letter, intended for other churches in addition to the one in Ephesus" ... "Paul may have written it about the same time as Colossians, c. A.D. 60, while he was in prison at Rome (see 3:1; 4:1; 6:20)." (1) Specific verses that give support to the idea that this was possibly a "circular" letter include: Eph. 1:1,15; 6:21-23 and Acts 19:10. Blessings to you, Makarios (1) Zondervan NASB Study Bible, 1999, the Zondervan Corporation, Kenneth Barker, General Editor, pgs. 1716, 1718 |
