2 | divorce and remarriage for chirstians | 2 Corinthians | Saint Luke | 164171
Evangelistit, Are you saved? If so, ALL of your sins, and the sins of your spouse if they are a believer, have been forgiven. Cor 5:18-20 says "Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God". So I wouldn't worry about the labels "adulterer" or "adultress". GOD reconciled the WHOLE WORLD to himself, Everybody has the opportunity to be SAVED. 2 Pet 3:9 says, "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance". Your sins have been forgiven, you receive it when you believe. But that is only half of the Gospel. The other half is the resurrection of Christ that ensures you have ETERNAL LIFE. Obvious scripture John 3:16 Don't let the enemy put you under condemnation, and don't be the enemy condemning others. Gal 2:4 says "But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage". John 8:32 says "and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." The reverse is then true, error will put you under bondage. Beware of the error of others putting you in bondage, or your error putting others in bondage. In Christ Luke. |

Thanks for your take on this Luke along with your scripture references. You sound like my ex and the people that he follows, no offense to you. I appreciate what you are saying about bondage, but i believe that is why divorces are so high among christians. No real standards and using scriptures to do what the flesh wants to do and justify it. I know I am forgiven, but i don't ever want to be quility of an harden heart. Two bible believing christians should have no differences that God can't fix, unless you have a hard heart. A little levean leavens the whole lump. I will remain unmarried if that is what it takes to be a good witness for my Lord. After all it is all about him, not me. So good day Luke and perhaps you should take the whole message into context instead of justifying divorce. By the way, are you divorced?

Have been divorced and am now remarried to a wonderful christian woman. In our lives, we can't fullfill the Law. You know this is the reason Christ came. Not justifying divorce at all. but I know it is just one of my sins my savior died for. I know I can stand justified by FAITH, because the truth of GOD'S WORD says I am standing justified. Just a quick question for you. Are you still trying to stand righteous under the Law, or are you made righteous through the work of Christ. Please don't take these as condemning statements, I really would like to know and am genunely coureous. Again, the TRUTH will set you FREE..... In Christ, Luke |

Hello Luke, Your statements on sin and forgiveness are good, but I don't believe they are well thought through. Your right that Christ did come to provide atonement for all sin. But I think you might benefit from a look at Romans. A good reference place to start is Romans 5:20 - 6:2 Think on this for a while before resonding if you will. Sincerely, Jeff |
