2 | children and last supper | 1 Corinthians | caro | 150007 | ||
Hi dfaulk The first portion of your question is a little bit simpler than the last, maybe these verses will answer both questions at once. After the same manner also he took the cup when he had supped, saying This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it in rememberance of me. All the references say pretty much the same thing. Some say the fruit of the vine also. It continues to say: Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lords body. 1Corinthians 11:25-29 Personally, each of us knows our own children and their knowledge of Gods word and their understanding thereof. It would be completely up to the parents, just be aware of the consequences, that child should have full understanding of what it signifies, and whom it represents. They need to understand that they must take the communion just as a Holy Communion, therefore they as well as we should be blameless before God. Otherwise I wouldn't reccommend it. |
