1 | Is Extreme Metal appropriate? | 1 Corinthians | Hank | 144556
delight-in-light :::: You use some graphic words and phrases to describe the music that you say makes you feel good -- expressions like brutality, grotesque, hateful and, worst of all, extreme anti-Christian. If you are a Christian, surely you don't mean what you say. No follower of Christ would ever feel good to hear Christ and His followers mocked, ridiculed and vilified. You say you must know where God stands on this issue. I believe you already know. If you don't, ask yourself, "Is it reasonable to think that God is happy to see His Son ridiculed, blasphemed, verbally abused and spat upon? Friend, if you are a Christian, come out from among these evildoers who work the works of Satan. If you are not a Christian, I implore you to turn to Christ and be saved now. The Bible says that the day of salvation is today! --Hank

delight-in-light, First of all, I would echo brother Hanks' admonition. Do you truly know the Lord? Second, two scriptures come to my mind in light of your question: 1. Phil. 4:8-9 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." 2. Rom. 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." The advice may only have impact if you truly know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I cannot see any real, reedeming value in Extreme Metal and I cannot see it as glorifying God in any way- nor his creation! I submit this in the spirit of love, BradK |
