1 | Is this phrase in scripture? | 1 Corinthians | Amber_G | 76482 | ||
jlynette... This is a phrase that is often thrown around in Chrisitan cirlces as a way to encourage one who is going through difficult times (death, illness, divorce, etc). But the problem is that this statement is untrue. You don't have to be a Christian long to know that God gives (or, more appropriately, allows) us way more toubles and trials than we can ever handle alone. You see, God does not want us to handle our troubles alone. He wants us to grow ever deeper in our dependence on Him. If we tried to handle our problems on our own with out His help, we would (and often do) find ourselves in a much worse circumstance. Many times, I believe, God allows everything in our lives to be shaken up just so we can run to Him and grow deeper in our relationship and trust of Him. |

Amber_G, You should have sent this to jlynette. I was going to send it for you, but I assume that you should have the pleasure of doing that. However, I enjoyed your post! God bless |
