It was written before the Apostle Paul's death. Jack P. Lewis places the book at about 58 A.D. Interestingly, the book has much to say about salvation. The Roman Road evangelist lesson is an easy way to teach someone the Gospel and help save a soul. Romans 1:16; 3:9,23; 5:6-11; 6:3-5; 10:9,10. I hope this helps. By the way, what do you think of the following verses on Baptism? The following are just a few plain verses...[edited] Matt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Mark 16:16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. Acts 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized; Acts 22:16 'Now why do you delay? Greetings Disciplerami! Acts 16 also has a lot to say about salvation. In fact, Paul was asked how one can be saved. Notice his response: Acts 16:29 - "The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked,'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' 31 They replied, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved?you and your household.'" Funny thing about this passage. Paul did not say that one must believe and be baptized in order to be saved. I wonder why? ;-) Was Paul mistaken? Did Paul give an incomplete answer? Or, could it possible be that salvation really is by grace through faith, and not by works? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
