Where does it saved before they got the Holy Ghost? It doesn't. There is a gift of tongues and there is the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues a lot of people get the 2 confused. Speaking in tongues is for everybody. But there is a gift of tongues. WHICH IS DIFFERENT. All the people who got the Holy Ghost spoke in tongues and were baptized (baptizo meaning to imerse or submerge or clean with water). It does not say they were saved before they spoke in tongues. Everytime the Holy Ghost was poured out they spoke with other tongues. In one translation it says spoke in an unknown tongue.

punkiedo, "Speaking in tongues is for everybody". Well, I hate to disappoint you, but 1 Cor. 12:30 says different! In the Greek, all of these questions( from both verse 29 and 30) have the negative participle preceding them, which means the answer to each question is no. We can thereby affirm that all do not have the gift of healing, tongues, or interpretation. To insist that ALL must speak in tongues (foreign languages) would be contrary to the Word of God. Hi, Brad. Tsk, tsk, easy now, don't dwell on Scripture too much! You might offend someone or mess up someone's theology. Surely you know by now that the unwritten rule of thumb on this Forum is for users to post their beliefs as expansively and as frequently as they wish, using Scripture only if and when it seems to support their beliefs. They may have to twist and bend the verses here and there to make them seem to fit their presuppositions, but that's all right. We're being judgmental, you know, when we quote Scripture that puts the lie to anyone's beliefs, no matter how far out those beliefs are. After all, the marching order these days goes something like this: One belief system is just as good as another, and we shouldn't make waves just because Scripture says something quite different. We should all pay little or no attention to what the Bible says, and strive instead to achieve peace and harmony among ourselves. In this way we can all become one big happy, loving family -- of pagans! --Hank

I'm glad God didn't tell you everything in his Word. And that he have reviled them to babes.

Well, jcsav, if you're glad, I suppose I ought to be glad too. By the way, to what babes has God "reviled" Himself? --Hank
