1 | would like to study 4:23-24. | John | ktmon | 58823
Was wondering if anyone wanted to study the text of John 4:23-24 with me. Also our pastor has been teaching us about a 2nd work of grace which is sanctification and implies that we can lose our salvation. Would like your input. Thanks! |

ktmon, you asked the forum if someone would help you study John 4:23-24. Romans 12:1 is a cross reference scripture, which in my prayer time use.John 4:24 says"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth".so in meditating Romans 12:1 in prayer saying, as Paul instructs us" Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual act of worship. Growing, maturing Christians will encounter some pain. we lose superficial pleasures when we abandon sinful activities. we may have to struggle to establish new patterns of living.becoming living sacrifices ( that is, giving our lives totally to God) does not mean endless martyrdom, however. we can find fullfillment and satisfaction in becoming what God created us to be, no matter what the cost. we will see a higher purpose in life than avoiding pain. pray this will also help you. God bless.
3 | Elice Fox, why do you equate the 2 words | John | Searcher56 | 58897
Again I say to you the word (latreia) translated worship in Romans 12:1 from the word (latreuo) translated service in Matthew 4:10. The word (proskuneo) translated worship in John 4:23-24 is same word translated worship in Matthew 4:10. I said not to equate the two words. Why do you continue? |
