Y@huwdiy (Strong's 03064) is the transliterated word. It is patronymically from Y@huwdah (Strong's 03063) which is Judah. Does this prove that the Jews are a different nation altogether from the House of Israel? ... It depends on your definition of "House of Israel." Exo 16:31 shows unity. It is interesting that Ruth 4:11 uses it; remember where Bethlehem was/ is. The verses you cited show separation. So just who are the descendants of these 10 other tribes? ... 2Ki 17:23ff says they were exiled and replaced by Samaritans. They are all scattered (Jas 1:1). Abraham is the father of many nations, not just from Issac, Ishamael, but his other sons (Gen 25:1-4). Steve |

Thank you Steve.. I was a bit curious about this since Jews (Judeans) are distinguished from the rest of the people of Israel in this verse.. | ||||||
