Hi Chuy, Your question leaves much to the imagination so I'm just gonna take a shot at it. Are you referring to Dan. 10:2-3? I can tell you how many people interpret this kind of fast (others here on the Forum will probably have some insights for you also). It doesn't state that Daniel did not eat or drink at all during this period. Instead, it says that no "tasty" food, nor meat or wine was consumed, and no pleasantries such as ointments were used. So, many folks perform a "Daniel fast" by eliminating "favorites" from their meals for a period (eating purely for sustenance) and during the times they might be thinking about the wonderful Outback steak meal they give that time to prayer/worship/Bible study. Others often will turn off the TV or stereo for a week or two and "give" that time to the Lord. It could be the giving up for a time of anything that we do strictly for our fleshly pleasures. That is, we don't stay home from work for 5 days , or leave the dishes in the sink for a week, we don't give up that hour of bedtime stories with the kids, etc. In other words, a "Daniel fast" is simply a quick, descriptive term for giving to God what is His .
