2 | why did God not destroy satan ? | Ezekiel | JA03 | 69228 | ||
Ezekiel 28 shows the sin of Satan. It also shows that he was thrown out of heaven because of his sin. After he was thrown out of Heaven God made the earth and he also made man. Satan being kicked out of heaven decieved Eve to eating the friut and she did(Gen3)Adam and Eve just like Satan died in there sin,but God offerd a plan of redemption for Adam and Eve(Gen3:14-15) It was part of Gods will i think. I think that He did not destroy him for the purpose of belevers going to heaven and un believers going to hell. |

Ja03 This is the problem with applying all of Ezekiel 28 to Satan. While there is much there to convince us Ezek 28 is in fact talking about Satan there are a few things that are up in the air so to speak. One Satan being thrown out of heaven. In Job we clearly see Satan in Heaven. Also as an accuser of the brethren Satan must have some access even now to heaven. Lastly we see Satan thrown out of heaven in Revelation 12 where he is described as the accuser of the brethren verse 10. That verse also talks of Christ. With the mention of Christ and the brethren we have to suppose the picture in Revelation is after the birth of Jesus. Therefore Ezek 28 can not be a picture of Satan being permanently eliminated from heaven as many suppose. Possibly the terminology is talking about his lost of position in heaven rather than his access to heaven. EdB |
