1 | What is the name of Job's wife? | Job | EdB | 131364
Hank Speaking of Cane we made it through another Hurricane. Praise the Lord! If anyone has noticed it looks like God has X’ed out Florida and I live about 35 miles north west of the center of the X. Praise God we suffered no real damage however my Oak trees have lost about 60 percent of their leaves. My brother lives on the East coast right where Florence entered Florida. He has no damage but has been without power since 10 PM Saturday. We lost power for about 12 hours Sunday 3PM and it came back on about 3 AM Monday morning. Well we get to clean out the refrig! There are some trees blown down and things like that but mostly damage to signs, traffic lights and some flooding. We had about 6 inches of rain and that sounds like a lot but I have seen it rain 10 inches in couple hours here in Florida so 6 inches over a couple of days is really no big deal. There is flooding but the places that flood, usually flood in every rain. Remember Florida is one big swamp to begin with. Wind is dying down the rain has stopped and things are beginning to return to normal I thank God it wasn’t worst. Praise God for His mercy!! EdB |

2 | What is the name of Job's wife? | Job | Hank | 131370
EdB: Thanks for checking in and bringing us the good news that you and your family are safe in Florida. First Charley, then Frances, and, looming on the far horizon, Ivan. The way things have been going down there, Ed, it might not be a bad idea to haul in some gopher wood and start building :-) Blessings to you, brother. --Hank
3 | What is the name of Job's wife? | Job | EdB | 131372
Hank I about ready to haul more than gopher wood. I'm about ready to pack everything into the back of the old Packard and head north. I a firm believer God intended Florida to be inhabited with nothing more than gators, turtles, cockroaches, mosquitoes, and big ugly snakes. If I can ever convince my wife of that, I’m out’a here. I visited Florida once when I was young and made a solemn oath I would never return. However 27 years ago I was given a offer I couldn’t refuse. If I would go to Florida for two years I could write my own ticket. Those two years turned into 5 and by then my children were in high school so we couldn’t leave. Then it was college and they got married and had children and again we can’t leave. I’m a Yankee stuck in this swamp! I have threatened telling my wife and children if she dies first no one better be standing between me and north at her grave, because the minute she is in the ground this kid is heading north. She keeps telling me I have to learn to be content no matter where God has me. I am content, I’m content in the fact that one day I may just get out of here or is that hope? EdB |
