1 | Who in the bible never died? | Genesis | kalos | 171466
'Genesis 5:24 tells us, "Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." 2 Kings 2:11 tells us, "...suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind." These two verses describe the only two occurrences in the Bible of people being taken to Heaven without having died. Enoch is described as a man who "walked with God for 300 years" (Genesis 5:23). Elijah was perhaps the most powerful of God's prophets in the Old Testament. There are also prophecies of Elijah's return (Malachi 4:5-6). 'Why did God take Enoch and Elijah?...' Did Jesus lie? |

3 | Elijah went where? | Genesis | kalos | 171500
No one has ascended into heaven except... [9] Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?" [10] Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? [11] Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony. [12] If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? [13] No one has ascended into heaven except him who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. (John 3:9-13 (ESV)) 3:13 "No one has ascended into heaven." 'This verse contradicts other religious systems' claims to special revelation from God. Jesus insisted that no one has ascended to heaven in such a way as to return and talk about heavenly things (compare 2 Cor. 12:1-4). Only He had His permanent abode in heaven prior to His incarnation and, therefore, only He has the true knowledge regarding heavenly wisdom.' (MacArthur Study Bible) |
