No. (Genesis 5:5-32) Consider the context. Verse 2 mentions the unnatural union of rebellious angels and "daughters of men." (2 Peter 2:4, 5; Jude 6) The result? Verses 4 and 5 say: "Giants in the earth" who were "mighty men" and "men of renown." This caused 'the wickedness of man to be great in the earth.' Verse 11 says: "The earth was filled with violence." So God said: "I will destroy them with the earth." (Genesis 6:11, 13) But "Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." (Genesis 6:8) Evidently, God was going to tolerate this situation for only 120 years longer! (Matthew 24:37-39; 2 Peter 3:5-13; Malachi 3:6a) Stokeyhk. |
