1 | How does one pray in the Holy Spirit ? | Jude 1:20 | tthom1122 | 113650
Sir, Try 1 Corinthinans 14:14 for if i pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. Some say praying in the spirit is praying in tongues, but if there is no one around to interpret your prayers, are they helping anyone?that is the question. If you are praying in the spirit, in tongues, on your own, then the spirit hears and you will be blessed in the spirit. dont stop reading at 14., continue thru to the end of the chapter and see if you get an understanding. I hope this helps. i am sure this is not the only response you can get but i am limited on time here. |

New Creature, I understand that you asked this question some time ago, and reading the responses you recieved, Im not sure if your question was answered. I am requesting that you use this forum and go to the questions and answers to Acts 16:31. Those responses are more in tune; to me, to the question you had. Now, in reference to the music issue. Just like when you were in the world and some enjoyed country, some enjoy jazz, some enjoy R and B. There is Country Gospel, Contemporary Gospel and yes even Gospel Rap. These songs are made to reach the hearts and souls of man, by man. The quiet music may reach you where as the louder music may reach your wife. Does she have a history of being a party-type person? This may be the setting that she is comfortable in because it reminds her of when she was in the world, she can have her music and social gatherings without the sin per-se. You may be further along in your learning or understanding than she is. That doesnt make the way she worships wrong. Psalm 33:2-3 Praise the Lord with harp; sing unto him with the psaltry and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise. Also read these: Psalm 81:1-4 Psalm 92:1-3 Psalm 95:1-2 Psalm 100:1-2 and finally Psalm 150 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: prasie him with stringed instruments and organs. Prasie him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let everything that have breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. Continue in prayer and supplication and God will show you the way. Just listen to HIM. As far as her worshiping at a different place and in a different way, A lot of Christians believe that you should worship in the same place because of Paul saying that if a woman wants to know anything she should ask her husband. You may get understanding of that from the Acts 16:31 also. 1 Corinthians 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 and there are differences of admisnstrantion, but the same Lord. 6 and there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 for to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom;to another the word of knoledge by the same Spirit; 9 to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit. 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath namy members and all teh members of that one body being many are one body, so also is the Christ. 13 for by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. It really doesnt matter where she worships, or how she worships, just as long as she worships. |

5 | Can God create a rock soo big? | Matt 17:20 | tthom1122 | 96800
If you believe in the God in the bible, then you too can move mountains. The biggest rock is a mountain, he created it, he can move it. Often times referral to a mountain is pertaining to a large problem or something we feel like we cannot overcome, or something that looks so large as we come up against it that we can not get over it. I'm not real sure what your question was, but I hope this is a close answer. |

6 | WHO DID CHRIST DIE FOR ?????? | Revelation | tthom1122 | 96797
If you asked for an explaintion to this scripture, it is just stating that we are not fighting agaist the people in our homes, on our jobs, in our churches and any place else we find troubles, we ARE though fighting against the evil spirits in their lives that they bring with them. We are fighting against the car trouble they have on the way to work that makes them angry, the abusive husband that makes them sad, the alcohol that makes them incoherent, the money problems that make them worry, the teenaged child that they argue with before they arrive to your presence that causes hatred in their hearts. These things are what rule and have authority in peoples lives on a daily basis. You may wonder why a person is in such a bad mood or so angry all the time. It is what they deal with in their daily lives that when they get in our presence, we too end up dealing with. So it is not the person that you have to deal with, it is the persons situation. You ever wonder why the athmospehre can be pleasant until a certain person arrives, only later to find out that they were going through some problems that even you would not want to deal with? We saints have to share this earth with folk who are not saved, so we will come up against the powers of darkness and spiritual forces of evil. But you must read further to learn how to deal with them. The devil wants you to get angry and mean, and unhappy and sad and all along with them, that only makes his power greater. But greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. God's power is stronger and mightier than any that the devil can put out there. I hope this explains it further. My sister was just going through a situation on her job today where she just thought everyone was against her, I advised her it wasnt her and she cant take it personally. She must be doing something right for God because the devil is not happy and he is sending those firey darts her way. I gave her this exact passage to read in hopes that it would inspire her so that she would not in turn be angry on her job like everyone else. Read on through verse 20. |

7 | where did the multitude come from? | Mark | tthom1122 | 96207
Thank you for the response but that just poses another question from me. Even after he askes them not to tell, most follow him. Is this where the multitude comes from? The 5000 plus? It seems after all of these miracles were performed and people started to follow him, shortly after he looks back and feels for the multitude thusfore feeds them. Is this where the multitude comes from?

14 | I THINK ABOUT SEX 24/7 | Phil 4:8 | tthom1122 | 95929
your focus should not be sex, but maybe the reason behind thinking of sex all the time. What is it that is not being fulfilled? 1 Cor 7:3-5 let the husband render unto the wife due benevlonece: and likewise the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. It seems as though Satan has made his way into your marriage to tempt you. Why is that a weakness for him to attack? Figure out what is not true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and just in your sexlife. If there BE anything worthy of praise, dwell on those things. |

15 | What are some examples? | Phil 4:8 | tthom1122 | 95925
I dont actually see this as an example but more of a guide. there are many examples in the bible of Jesus focusing on the "good parts" of people. The woman at the well, the adulterous woman, each of his diciples as he knew some would betray him, and well US! We are supposed to be in his image, and Paul is just giving us the guidelines. "but to them that are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure" is just saying what we already know, misery loves company. If you see no good in yourself, you dont look for good in others. But if you follow after the ways of Jesus, loving, forgiving, honorable, truthful, you have no problem seeing the good in others. |

16 | faith and believe are they the same? | Heb 11:1 | tthom1122 | 94710
Faith is having the understanding that what you cannot see, feel, touch or understand CAN exist. Belief is having the understanding that what you cannot see, feel, touch or understand MAY exist. in otherwords with faith you may not KNOW how it will happen, but you FEEL(believe) it is possible. Faith is confirmation, conviction, knowledge. belief is hope, wish, thought, want. |
