1 | Mary, sis of Martha and Mary Magdalene? | Matt 27:56 | ldaw942 | 169388
Actually, I was referring to the Mary in John 11: Mary Magdalene or Martha's sister? I'm sorry that I commented as I did without researching Matthew 27:56. I was still back on my John 11 scripture. Thanks tho.

3 | Mary, sis of Martha and Mary Magdalene? | Matt 27:56 | ldaw942 | 169334
My question is: Was Mary Magdalene also one of the Mary's in this story. The other Mary was Martha's sister, I understand that. But, at one point it mentions just the name Mary. That makes me wonder if it could possibly be Mary Magdalene. I think we would need to know the timeframe and locations of both Mary's to be able to determine this. I will appreciate any wisdom on this. Thanks.

In my Nelson Study Bible, NKJV, the study notes group references vs. 17:22-31. In that, it says "Because the men of Athens had scant knowledge of the Hebrew Scriptures, Paul started with the general revelation visible in creation itself. . . .. Thus, Paul began his presentation of the gospel by appealing to natural revelation and to certain true statements of the Athenian poets. (bold) He has made from one blood (bold): God sovereignly created one man, Adam. As Adam's descendants multiplied and formed nations, it was God who designed their course (see Dan. 2?20, 21) (bold) that they should seek the Lord(bold): God has placed within each one of us the yearning to worship and seek Him, . . .. Without a definite revelation from God, we would continue to worship such gods. But Paul points out that God is not far away, we can have fellowship with Him. In fact, every day we depend upon Him for our life and breath. . . .. It is our responsibility to respond to His Son and to follow Him." In my Nelson Study Bible, in those two verses I will stress esp. "'that they SHOULD seek seek the Lord, in the HOPE that they might GROPE for Him and FIND Him'". I think, in your question, and what I read in my study bible, it tells me that the only thing that gives cause for mankind to seek God 'in any time (boundary and habitation) is the 'still small voice' (the Holy Spirit) within each of us. Anyway, that's what I gleaned from this research.
7 | John 11: Mary Magdalene or Martha's sis? | Not Specified | ldaw942 | 169266
In the story of Lazarus (Jesus raising from death), was Mary Magdalene in that story -- or was it just Mary, the sister of Martha? I suppose you have to know the time frame of both women to answer that?
