1 | Just and unjust | Eccl 8:14 | greeneyedtweety | 38742
This is sort of similar- Eccl 8:14 At http://bible.gospelcom.net/ you can search for anything you want. I dont think that exact quote is in the Bible (Keep in mind that Eccl. contains the discouraged thoughts of one man during his quest for meaning in life) |

3 | Does Elijah's confession reflect shame? | 1 Kin 19:4 | greeneyedtweety | 38729
I don't believe he thought it displeased the Lord or even that it was due to a lack of faith. He was worn out. He was human and he was experiencing human emotions. His statements reflect his discouragement and despair. God does not punish us for our feelings. He understands. Please continue reading the rest of the chapter, and notice how God responded to his prayer. He sent an angel to care for Elijah. He gave Elijah time to eat, sleep, and recover from all he had been through. After that he spoke to Elijah gently in a whisper! God loves you and He wants you to get the help you need. Depression is an illness and you need to do whatever it takes to recover. If you cannot eat or sleep, go to the doctor. You may need medication, and you really do need professional counselling. Don't try to go it alone. God uses people just as he used the angel to minister to Elijah. Pray and ask Him for wisdom to guide you to the right professionals. It takes time, but you can recover from depression. I know - I've been through it.

5 | How do we tie this together? | Eph 5:2 | greeneyedtweety | 38725
I'm not sure I understand your question, but the word salvation means being saved. In our context, salvation means being saved from God's eternal punishment of our sins, which is separation from Him, and being saved from sin's power over us during our time on Earth. The only "Way" to salvation is Jesus Christ - He said it Himself in John 14:6. This is in agreement with both John 3:16 and Romans 10:9. If we believe on Jesus as our Lord, the Son of God, and accept His sacrificial death and resurrection on our behalf in payment of our sins, we are saved. We are reconciled to God, saved from a life without hope, and saved from an eternity of torment. I have found that in dealing with youth, stressing the comfort and wisdom that come from a personal relationship with Christ is more effective than scaring them about hell. Teens tend to live very much in the present moment and may think they have plenty of time to think about eternity later. Hope this helps. |

6 | How do we attain righteousness? | Matthew | greeneyedtweety | 38485
Note: Jesus fulfilled every requirement of the law. Because he paid for our sins, we are no longer under the law. Remember that righteousness is not a requirement for salvation, it is a result of salvation through faith in Christ.
7 | How do we attain righteousness? | Matthew | greeneyedtweety | 38484
Romans 4 talks extensively about righteousness as a result of faith and obedience. Romans 5:17 specifically says it is a gift from God. And Matthew 5:6 and 6:33 tell us that it is something we should seek earnestly for, and that if we do, God will fill us with his righteousness. I believe it comes as a result of accepting Christ as Saviour and Lord and asking His Holy Spirit to transform us continually so we become more and more like Christ. It is not a something we can earn by being good. It is God's work in us that comes through our faith and obedience.
8 | why is Barak cited in Hebrews 11:32? | Not Specified | greeneyedtweety | 38481
In Hebrews 11:32, the "Hall of Faith," Barak is included. When I read Judges 4, the story of Barak and Deborah, it seems that Barak was not an example of faith at all - that it was Deborah who trusted God and went into battle, and that she was to receive the credit. So why is Barak cited in Hebrews 11 and not Deborah? Other women are noted there, eg Rahab.
