1 | Is it by works or by grace? | Luke 11:8 | gracechild | 57785
McGracer, It is never by works, always by grace. God owes us nothing. We cannot gain His favor...we already have it. Yes, I believe we already have everything we need for life and godliness. Prayer is not about "getting" God to focus on us, but rather our need to focus on Him. This is why, we pray unceasingly. He is not hard of hearing but as we call upon Him, we are reminded that He is truly in control of our lives. Just my thoughts. Grace child, Toni |

2 | "Ask and you shall receive" | Matt 7:7 | gracechild | 57682
Jules, Thank you for your response. May I ask more? You wrote: Historically, God has taken young people to heaven because they were good. I ask you.....How do we know this is why? Doesn't this earth also need good young people? You also wrote: God knows who will appreciate His Kingdom. I ask you....Will not ALL people appreciate His Kingdom? Thanks, Grace Child Toni |

3 | "Ask and you shall receive" | Not Specified | gracechild | 57671
I wonder if someone here could shed a little light on the subject of, "Ask and you shall receive"? Many people of great Faith have asked and trusted God for a physical healing that was never granted. To tell them, they lacked enough Faith seems to not only judge their relationship with God but it also makes no allowance for the fact that God's Divine plan for them may have been a spiritual healing rather than a physical one. Faith moves mountains (it would seem) only if that be within the Divine Will. (which is still always BEST for us) Should we not be careful in telling others that their lack of healing was due to a lack of Faith? I don't see God as someone who answers prayers dependent upon great faith or little faith but upon His loving mercy toward all His children. Sometimes, this means not the physical healing asked for but rather a journey out of pain and into eternal bliss. "Ask and you shall receive"....please comment? Hopefully several of you can help me understand this a little better? Am I Scripturally off-base here? His still learning grace child, Toni |

5 | What does the Lord's prayer mean when it | Not Specified | gracechild | 54701
As a new christian, I am hoping that my question does not seem "stupid". The Lord's prayer says, "And do not lead us into temptation" (Matt 6:13) I thought that Satan was the one who leads us into temptation and perhaps God "allows" it as a testing of our faith. Can anyone here help me to understand this better or point out in what way this is meant to be understood if I have interpreted it incorrectly? Appreciate your help. His grace child, Toni |
