1 | Did God create sin/evil? | Bible general Archive 4 | chuck 62 | 238626
The general concept of sin goes back to when Eve ate of the fruit of the tree of life in the garden of Eden, when she was beguiled by the serpent. So in a way, you could say that the origin of sin began with the serpent, but the serpent was of Lucifer. From here, this is purely conjecture on my part, God created Lucifer and he became the Arch Angel until he felt that he was as powerful as God and was cast out, he had free will and used it unwisely, so in a way I believe that that was the first sin. In the beginning God created everything to be perfect and to his glory, but he did not want to be worshipped solely on the ground that he created them, he wanted us to worship him because we want to thereby giving us free will, hence we can chose to sin or honor God. I believe Lucifer created the first sin when he decided to challenge God.
2 | Amos 8-11 | Amos 8:11 | chuck 62 | 238592
thank you for your answer. Since posting it I posed the question to my pastor, he said it referred to the 400 year span before Christ's birth when there was no prophesy. I believe , today though, we have no need for prophesy as everything we need to know is all contained in God's word, besides, if I truly trust in the lord then I have no need for prophesy, and if we suffer from a famine of the word then it is of our own doing, God's word and all we need to know is in the bible, read, read, read and pray for wisdom to understand
3 | Who di God listen to in Old testement? | OT general | chuck 62 | 238586
God has heard and continues to hear us see Romans 8:26, but we cannot fathom his wisdom at times such as the Jews that were held captive in Egypt, God heard their groaning's, but even after all the miracles he performed to free them, even after passing through the waters of a parted Red Sea they still rebelled and were made to wander for forty years. God hears us right up till today, we tend to doubt him because we do not see immediate results and at times we question his wisdom or if he really is, but we have proven time and again that seeing is not always believing. Everything evolves in his own time and according to his wisdom, not ours.
4 | Who di God listen to in Old testement? | OT general | chuck 62 | 238578
As far as Abraham bargaining with God over Sodom and Gomorra goes, I feel that God already knew how many righteous people were there, so I can't really say he was bargaining.
