Perry5, I realize this is an old question, but i'll tackle it just the same. The church you are speaking of does not represent all of christianity. There were many pagan rituals adopted by certain religions. This is satan's way to get to the followers of Christ. The only problem I see with what you are saying is that this (christianity) is not a religion, but a belief. Religions change, beliefs don't. If you have read the whole Bible, and not just the parts that you think will prove your misguided points, you will see that it is infallible. Now, I will ask you a question in turn. Can you show me a real god other than the one I know? I will give my own answer,I know you can't because there isn't one. I don't know what your religious beliefs are, but I can tell you that the GOD i worship is the creator, the ONLY GOD. Since you have your answer, is there anything else we can help you with? Love in CHRIST JESUS, believer |

mommapbs, as far as I could tell, he was basing his questions on biblical passages. I just think it better to give him an answer that cannot be proven wrong. There are many people out there who just need a little interaction with the right people. If he came to be derogatory,we should be respectful and answer his questions. You haven't disappointed me at all. No one has to answer to me. I am sure he is well aware why he is here, we aren't.If he asks these questions, he obviously does not deny God exists or he wouldn't bother. The Holy Spirit calls on people and we don't know His mind. I will go and read his posts as you suggest. Love in Christ Jesus, Misty |

Perry5, I was flipping through and saw your question posted. I replied and actually sent it to the wrong person. Just goes to show how hard satan will work to keep the Word from those who seek it. If your interested in my answer, read the posts to EdB. believer |

As an afterthought, I just want to add that my first reading of the BIble had me asking a lot of the same questions. It is different when you have the light of love(HOLY SPIRIT)in your heart, your mind and your soul. Please don't extinguish a possible flicker that may result in lasting life. mommapbs, I think that you are judging. Did it ever occir to you that this person might need a little reassurance and christianly love? So many christians today lose out on the oppurtunity to witness because they have become callous and unfeeling to the needs of those under conviction. Even if this person came to this forum for the wrong reasons, what better way to make it turn into the right reasons... And may I add that it is not too late until someone is dead. With all due respect, believer |

9 | if you don't believe...? | Bible general Archive 2 | believer 2004 | 134373 | ||
Just flipping through and noticed this question. I will give you the only answer you need. JOHN 3:16. There is no other God by which you will be saved.As for the Bible, the Bible is the Word, and the Word is...John 1:1-11. John 14:6. I could go on all day. My question to you is, if you don't believe in GOD, why are you on here? why are you arguing a point that doesn't exist in your mind? Since you seem to know the Bible, Why don't you read the rest of the old testament and find out why all those innocent people as you call them were killed. You will also find in there many, many times that there is no other God. I will pray for your revelation of God to come. Love in the Word, Believer |

That's good, I always got fifty irons in the fire. I was just making the statement that what I was discussing was not political, but Biblical. GOD BLESS! Misty |

Norrie, With all due respect, I think I (and many others I hope, will stay right here). There is no doubt that politics strikes a note of discord for you. I myself had no intention of upsetting you or anyone else. I agree that politics shouldn't be discussed alone, but when there is an honest question asked that is Biblical, I don't feel that it is going against the rules of this forum. If you have felt insulted by anything I said, please let me apologize. I was coming to the defense of someone who was misunderstood. Love in Christ Jesus, Misty |

Mark, Since I was feeling a rebuke was in order, I gave the pleasure to you because I felt you were polite and had no real animosity under what you were saying. Believer |

BradK, As you requested, I did the profile.You can read it. Most normally, reverse psychology doesn't work on me, but in this instance, I'll take your challenge. I am not a quitter and never have been. I did start this forum for the right reasons. I wanted fellowship and learning, as well. Psalm 46:10 popped in my head as I was sitting here thinking about how I would reply. No matter what anyone says, I am not going to let a little disagreement run me off. We are all here for a bigger purpose than we realize. Obviously, I am led to stay here and stick it out. I will give you scripture when I can. What some call my opinion is really the way I interpret things,because there are no two people a like. We can read the same book and not get the same thing out of it, that's what makes us human. There is unending love in the Bible which I intend to learn, explore and enjoy with the people on this forum. I expect for my take on things to be heard as well as yours. With Love in Jesus Christ, Misty |

mark, Thank you very much. I want you to know that it is not animosity that I feel, but hurt that things ARE as bad as they seem, even when we wish they weren't. But I do thank you that I finally have a welcome. I tried to base what I was saying on scripture, but it seems like I must be reading from a different Bible. Love in Christ, Misty P.s. Your rebuke is well heeded and correct. |

The statements I made were not my opinion. They are a fact. I was answering to the fact that it seems everytime someone asks a question, the "long time" users of this forum oust them out with their holier than thou attitudes, much as the pharisees did to Jesus. I was under the impression that this forum was for further study of the Bible. And it is, as long as the "long time users " don't object. The question the man asked WAS Biblically based and I was trying to give him an answer to the question he asked which the"long time" users of this forum didn't. Furthermore, My statements were not political in content, but Biblical. If you will read your Bible, it is full of "political stuff." You should spend more time answering the questions on a Biblical basis, and not your"opinion." I will not be a party to such prejudice and will find a site where there are real christians who will give real biblical answers to real Biblical questions that the "long time users" of this forum who are too busy passing judgement to answer. In closing, I will pray for the people I have talked with on this site and hope that they open their eyes to the people they are turning off of God with their rude answers and snide opinions. God Bless You All! Believer |

it is quite obvious that God puts the rulers in power. He uses these people for His purposes,whether they are good or not. As for not talking about political issues when they pertain to the Bible, I believe that is a predjudice, not biblically based. I believe the question was asked in relation to wanting a Biblical answer. Many people don't know everything there is to know, and just honestly want answers, which they assume they might get here. The only problem I can see is that some people on this forum try to mask rudeness by making other people feel small or like they have done something wrong. If we want to elect a godly president to run our ungodly country, we need to find out everything that the candidate stands for, which can be a long process. I do not see any biblical basis for not getting involved in the elections of our presidents, afterall, we the people are the ones who have to live with whoever is elected. As God is actually in control of who is in and who is out, we should make it our business to know what they stand for and what is coming for this country. Above all,we all need to pray as the christians we are to put God back into the government. It could make all the difference in who HE puts in office. God Bless Believer |

Bradk, I will do as you suggest and add a profile, if that will help. I can assure you that I will not be one of the ones that don't tough it out. I hope I didn't do anything against the policy of this forum. I did read the rules and regulations. As for my intent, it is to get to know and fellowship with other christians, as I don't get out much. I have a deep love for the Lord and only wish to learn everything that I can about the word he left to guide us. I feel that there are many depths yet to be plumbed to the Bible that haven't yet been explored. I have no desire to falsify anything or start an apostate doctrine. Lastly, I have no problem with anyone scrutinizing my comments at all. That is the whole point. Different people working together can discover the word and all it's meanings. I just think that we should read the Word repeatedly to learn everything there is to know and not be in such a hurry to discount every new thing, as long as it isn't ungodly. GOd Bless, Misty |

I just feel that I was not given a christianly welcome to our coversation. I did not intend to step on any toes, though I don't understand what I did to make you think so. God bless, Misty |
