1 | Skeletons of evolution? False? | Genesis | Yukerboy | 126930
Understood.... I just can't believe the Bible makes mistakes. Isaiah 45:18 says that God did not create the world tohu. Genesis 1:2 says that the world "was" tohu. If He did not create it without form and void, yet it was without form and void, then it must be that it became without form and void. Either that or Genesis 1:2 or Isaiah 45:18 is wrong. I will not believe the Bible is wrong. Yuke |

4 | How to "win the world" ? | Bible general Archive 2 | Yukerboy | 126828
Philippians 1:15-19 "It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.[3] 18But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. 19Yes, and I will continue to rejoice" If Christ is preached, then amen. Yuke |

6 | ok to sin because of the flesh | Bible general Archive 2 | Yukerboy | 126824
Paul, after he was saved, said "Christ Jesus came to save sinners, of whom I AM the worst" The I am shows a current state, not a former state. Paul sinned after receiving Christ, just as all Christians shall, admittedly or not. What has happened is some say "well, I'm gonna sin anyway, but since God has already forgiven me, it's ok." I'm not doing the Arminian/Calvin thing. Just going to state what I believe and why. I don't believe it is ok to sin, but then, I don't believe sin can cause loss of salvation. However, sin WILL cause loss of rewards. 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 "his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames." If a person continually, willingly sins, then the person must question if he/she has truly received Christ in the first place. Yuke |

7 | 7 twenty-four hour periods? | Gen 1:5 | Yukerboy | 126823
My basis.... I believe that God created the heavens and the earth. After that, the earth BECAME without form and void. If you read the original Hebrew, the word translated was also is used as became. Now, we all know of the fall of Satan, however we do not know the timeframe. If Satan was "hurled" to earth, then this most certainly would be an event that would cause the earth to become without form and void (tohu and bohu). In Isaiah, we are told that God did not create the world in vain, but the word translated as "in vain" is also tohu. If God did not create the world tohu and the world was tohu, then something happened for the world to become tohu. Now, in no way do I support or believe in evolution as a macro form. I don't. I don't believe that man evolved over the course of the billion years I stated....but as for the earth itself, I believe the Bible does not support a 6,000 year old earth. Yuke |

I apologize as I did not actually answer the original question. I believe the earth itself was created in a day (a long long time ago). I do believe in the literal 6 day account of creation in Genesis, but this was forming the earth from what it had become. The earth itself was created long ago, the rest of the creation account was approximately 6,000 years ago. Yuke |

You don't dismiss them. They are facts. God gave all life the ability to evolve (adapt). However, a man will continue to be a man, a monkey will continue to be a monkey, so on and so forth. I believe that Genesis 1:1 says the earth was created a long time ago (billions of years) and that Genesis 1:3 happened approxximately 6,000 years ago. Yuke |
