MJH My thoughts could be miles off, but sometimes a different viewpoint helps to jog something for us. Maybe it is not the translation of any given word as much as it is the thought of the whole. Is this a possible way for the words to be used, or are they always used the same way? Could this be what the Hebrew word is doing? Proverbs 1:14 14- Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: I believe the use of the word in this case could be in reference to the last part with (all having one purse.) Which would come out to having all things common. Proverbs 21:9 9- It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. I'm kinda stretching on this one but it could be that the house is the object that is common to the husband and wife. Proverbs 25:24 24- It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house. This is exactly the same as the other. But it seems as though they have used the word as a collective use or understanding. Conveying the thought of both occupying the same space. Just trying to give you some different possibilities, maybe they will let you look into an abstract direction if that will help. |

When we are looking at the scripture. Deut.22:5 5- (The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man,) (neither shall a man put on a woman's garment:) for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. When it is saying thes things that the (men and the woman) are not supposed to be doing because doing those things are an abomination to the Lord. We as Christians always are using this for a sign of homosexual behaviour. But a thing Iam just thinking about. Why do WE in our Christian society accept woman wearing pants? Even to be wearing when they will be going to Church? So my question is for the people of the forum. The men of the forum. Do your wives wear dresses all the time? The women of the forum. Do you wear dresses all the time? Iam courious because of the example we say we are always to show the world. Are we setting a standard for the world to emulate? Dear Val Maby you missed it in the (KJ) so Iam posting these from the (NASB) Iam also going to add some Brackets for you where I quoted thes verses. Num.14:18 (New American Standard Bible) 18- 'The LORD is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; :-(but He will by no means clear the guilty,)-: visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations.' Exodus 34:7 (New American Standard Bible) 7- who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet :-(He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished,)-: visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations." You then go on to say .” Notice in Psalms 52 David was forgiven, his sin was covered, and in verse five “You forgave the guilt of my sin.” This scripture does not sound correct does it? Psalm 52:5 (New American Standard Bible) 5- But God will break you down forever;He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah. That is ok I looked for the right one and found the one you really meant. But we are not knowing when Psalm 32 was written. It could be before or after the time in question. Psalm 32:5 5- I acknowledged my sin to You,And my iniquity I did not hide;I said, " I will confess my transgressions to the LORD";And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah. You then come to Psalm 51 "In Psalms 51 David was washed and made whiter than snow, verse seven." Psalm 51 (New American Standard Bible) A Contrite Sinner's Prayer for Pardon. 7- Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. You should take the time and go back to the Psalm 51. You will then be seeing all the way from vs.1 to the last vs. are all the pleadings for mercy. Iam sure that God did forgive David. It says he would in Num.14:18 and 34:7. Your parigraph about David I do not dispute He is a most revered man He was a man after God’s own heart David’s son with Bathsheba was chosen to be King – Solomon God made an everlasting covenant with David. Jesus is referred to as being in the lineage of David. But these are also true David committed adultery with Bathsheba David murdered Uriah David's first son with Bathsheba died because of the (SINS of the FATHER) otherwise "HE" would have been the next King This is another covenant made by God with David. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house I will take thy wives before thine eyes and give them unto thy neighbour and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. The child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. You are saying "The consequences of sin touched David’s family his remaining life." You are sure right with that statement according to the story we are discussing. "but each man/women was held responsible for their choices and decisions" Can you verify this statement with scripture? You finish with the quote I gave from Ex.34:7 But you add "The YLT leaves out “the guilty”. "I believe that makes a big difference." Exodus 34:7 (Young's Literal Translation) 7- keeping kindness for thousands, taking away iniquity, and transgression, and sin, and not entirely acquitting, charging iniquity of fathers on children, and on children's children, on a third [generation], and on a fourth.' Just the leaving out "the guilty" does not change the fact of who is paying for the sin "not the father." He is punished by having to watch everyone else pay for his sin. Iam sorry if the translation I used did not meat up to your standards. But guilt was used in the bible I used and there would not be anyone paying for sin if there was not anyone "GUILTY." But that is ok with me . Go ahead and leave out GUILT. It took you 3 different bibles to get there. Tell me is the (YLT) your bible of prefferance? Or is it just the one you use when all else fails? This is the number 2 post for you These scriptures are being the place where God started to be dealing with people differently than He did in the past. God stopped visiting the sins of the parents on the children. He started holding everyone responsible for their own sins. Requireing the life if the sinner not his children. Jeremiah 31 29--- In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. 30--- But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. Ezekiel 18 2--- What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 3--- As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. 4--- Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. These two scriptures should be giving you much Joy and be easing the torment of your mind. :-) What they are saying for you specially is that - - - - "YOU - ARE - NOT" responsible for the Homosexuality of your son or your grandson!! You have not committed any sin that has brought this upon them!! This information should be setting you free from the condemnation you have been feeling. Because Rom.8:1 says 1- There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. As I said to you in my first post to you There is an answer for you that will ease your mind because it is the answer to the source of the guilt that you are carrying. Num.14:18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. I am adding this story for you about King David because it was spoken before to you. But it does not apply to you in the way it was spoken. Iam going to be using it to show you that the things are different than you are thinking they are. 2 Samuel 12 1--- And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. So this is being the story of King David and the sins he was committing. 1- Breaking of a commandment of God "Thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife" This is also adultery in the heart according to Jesus. 2- Committing the actual physical sin of adultery with Bathsheba 3- Breaking another commandment by killing Uriah "Thou shall do no murder" Nathan was sent to David by God. From vs. 9 - 14 he tells David all the things that God was going to do. David finally repents vs.13 of the evil he has done It says God put away the sin and did not require Davids life. But that was not not clearing his guilt. Davids life did not just go back to the way things were before the sin. As some believe. There was going to be retribution for the sin. Violence against his house forever. His wives would be given to others in the sight of all. The child would die. That is "The sins of the parents being visited upon the children to the third and fourth generation." "OK" this is being the way that God was dealing with people. In Rom.1:18-32 Who is Paul talking About? My beleaf is that he is talking about mankind. This is not sounding like He is condemming homosexuality. As much as He is (Causing it in mankind.) It is sounding much more like God is placing a (Curse) on mankind because of the ungodliness and unrighteousness of men. Maby He is using homosexuality as a sign to us (Christians especially) letting each generation to be knowing the condition of mankind in their own generation. Rom. 18-32 18- For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness (of men,) who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19- (Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them;) (for God hath shewed it unto them.) 20- For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; (so that they are without excuse:) 21- Because that, (when they knew God,) (they glorified him not as God,) neither were thankful; (but became vain in their imaginations,) (and their foolish heart was darkened.) 22- (Professing themselves to be wise,) (they became fools,) 23- And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24- Wherefore (God also gave them up to uncleanness) (through the lusts of their own hearts,) (to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:) 25- Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Maby these two scriptures will be showing you first that if drinking was a sin. Would Jesus be turning the water into wine? Then Paul is telling Timothy that he should be drinking some for his infirmity. We as Christians should not be using the liberty that we have in Jesus Christ for an occasion to the flesh. Meaning that we should not be getting drunk with wine wherein is excess. And "NO" you will not be prohibited from entering heaven. There is not anything wrong with a glass of wine with dinner. Hello to you always learning I have not been on the forum for the last week so now Iam seeing the posts you have been making. In your post to keliy on the 4th. at 9:19 you are talking about the son of you and the grandson. Then you are saying "I live in sin because I married a woman who was divorced for adultery. I’ve made choices. (Ha! I’ve made my bed and must sleep in it?)" To me it is sounding like you are saying. Because of the sin you beleave you and your wife are living in. This is being the reason that your son and grandson are having the lifestyle they are having? Is my understanding of what you are saying correct? If my understanding is correct then Iam having an answer for you to ease your mind on the subject. If Iam wrong then I appoligize for taking your time. You had another question "This brings me back to the unanswered question about the unforgivable sin." Hello rose53 Let me put before you a Parable of the slothful servant? A certain servant was given the job of checking on the affairs of his lord. He had no respect for his fellow servants. He never talked to them. A couple of times each month this servant would have one of the other servants take him where he was told by his lord to go. Wherever he would go he was always taken by a servant in a donkey cart. He always depended upon these servants to take him when he had to take an account. Therefore every month this steward had to go to all of the holdings of his lord. Month after month the servants routine never changed. He would go to the vineyard to make sure the grapes had been picked for the making of wine. He would go to the wheat fields to check on how good the harvest would be. He would go to the threshing floor to see the quality of the wheat. This journey would take two days for his master had much land and holdings. He would travel over a very large portion of the countryside. Always sitting in the back of the donkey cart never noticing where he was. One day it came to pass the lord of that steward wanted an account taken of everything he owned so he could pay his tithe for he was a righteous man. The next morning when the steward was ready to leave. Behold all of the other servants were busy with the affairs of their lord. So that steward had to drive the donkey cart and started out on his own. By the end of the first day he was hot tired dirty and thirsty. Not being able to accomplish his task by the end of the second day. Knowing his master would be roth he went to an inn. Enquiring there he hired a servant of another lord. To take him back to his masters house. Now learn the parable of the slothful servant. The servant was a servant of the lord being no different from his fellow servants. He never talked to the others. He would always depend on them to take him where he had been told by the master to go. He always used the knowledge of the other servants. As long as they would take him he was not interested enough to learn how to get where he wanted to go by himself. Then came the day when he had to make this journey by himself. He found he did not know the way thereby being unable to accomplish the task set before him by his lord. He failed to accomplish the task. Is this homework?
