2 | When was the term "rapture" begin? | 1 Thess 4:17 | JimTrail | 237372
The modern-day church seems to not do a very good job of explaining this issue. God's kingdom is right here on the face of the earth. Christ will return the same way he left. He will descend (Acts 1:11). People who have died will come back to life (Daniel 12:2, Isaiah 26:19). And the New Jerusalem will descend from heaven (Revelation 21:2). If you rapture/fly away you're sure to miss the whole thing. That wouldn't be too much fun now would it. Acts 1:11 and they also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." Daniel 12:2 "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. Isaiah 26:19 Your dead will live; Their corpses will rise. You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy, For your dew is as the dew of the dawn, And the earth will give birth to the departed spirits. Revelation 21:2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. |

5 | Does New Testament say we can eat pork? | Not Specified | JimTrail | 206259
Does the New Testament anywhere tell or imply that the Christians can eat pork? In the book of Leviticus (Ch. 11 Ver. 3) GOD forbids the Israelites from consuming pork. Someone the other day told me that somewhere in the New Testament it says that Christians can eat pork. Does anybody know where? Thanks. |

8 | Where is the spell cast will be broken | Not Specified | JimTrail | 204050
Does anybody know where in the Bible it says that GOD will undo, or cause to be undone, the spell that has been cast upon His people? The reason I ask is that I recently heard a preacher say that GOD said that the spell of sorcery that had been cast upon the people would be broken. Thanks. |

I understand that. But is the name "el" referenced in the Bible? If it is, where? Example: The Philistines had a god - his name was "Dagon." (1 Samuel Ch. 5, Ver. 2) |

14 | Exodus - laws leaders must follow | OT general | JimTrail | 202974
I found what I was looking for. The passage to which I was referring used the word "ruler" - not the word "king" /------- Exodus Ch. 18. Ver 21 (Regarding rulers) 21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. 22 And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you. /------- The key words in the phrases above are: "such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness" |

Doc; I think that you are right. I have been searching myself and I can't find it. I started reading the Bible from Genesis Ch. 1, Ver. 1 a while back and thought that I remembered reading something like the above but I guess I must be mistaken. |

18 | Exodus - laws leaders must follow | Not Specified | JimTrail | 202213
Somewhere in the book of Exodus GOD tells laws about appointing kings (leaders). He says that kings may not enrich themselves when in office. He says essentially the same thing in Deuteronomy Ch. 17, Ver. 16 "But he shall not multiply horses for himself" In the book of Exodus GOD says it more exactly. What GOD says in the book of Exodus is that leaders are the servants of the people and therefore cannot enrich themselves while in office. Does anybody know where where it says the above in the book of Exodus. |
