Hey gang... Here's a nice piece of scripture Dr. Stanley spoke of this morning in his radio message...no I am not flogging Baptist's or any other denomination...I am not promoting anything but what Paul said to young Timothy when Timothy needed some encouragement when he was ministering to a group of Christians in a tough place. Tomorrow is a national day of prayer...perhaps we should all ask the Lord how He wants us to relate to one another in His love.... Here goes... Misleadings in Doctrine and Living 1 Paul, (1) an apostle of (2) Christ Jesus (3) according to the commandment of (4) God our Savior, and of (5) Christ Jesus, who is our (6) hope, 2 To (7) Timothy, (8) my true child in the faith: (9) Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and (10) Christ Jesus our Lord. 3 As I urged you upon my departure for (11) Macedonia, remain on at (12) Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to (13) teach strange doctrines, 4 nor to pay attention to (14) myths and endless (15) genealogies, which give rise to mere (16) speculation rather than (17) furthering the administration of God which is by faith. 5 But the goal of our (18) instruction is love (19) from a pure heart and a (20) good conscience and a sincere (21) faith. 6 For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to (22) fruitless discussion, 7 (23) wanting to be (24) teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions. I trust that each of us will follow Paul's instructions that we do not debate silliness, but rather explore endlessly ways to grow in Christ and more importantly how we may cease fruitless conversation and show only love and genuine caring one for another...Searcher you may call it whatever you wish, and don't send me an email about this... Please let us show love, kindness, consideration and support for all brothers and sisters in the Lord...let's give practical advice, using methods that help people internalize what they learn...any of us who have been Christians for years should know this...nothing is more important than dealing with each other with love ...genuine love from the Father. I also trust that I never see a question about hatred of Arab Americans EVER again on this site. Hatred of anyone is disgusting....who does any child of God think they are that they should be allowed to perpetuate or even suggest violence or unkindness towards others of a different faith? Teaching by example always beats out teaching by beating your gums!!! Let's all try to be kind, polite, and good willed towards each other. J |

Apparently someone complained to the Foundation, and after I wrote that person on an another email, and copied the Lockman Foundation, it was posted back. Talk about about a big baby! No not you...ther is a trouble maker, that runs his legalist, mean spritied, somewhat bizarre ideas through most of the threads..seems to have nothing else to do with his day. J |

5 | Is having a TV unbiblical? | Phil 4:8 | Jeanne1 | 81173

6 | How do u stay pure but have pleasure | Phil 4:8 | Jeanne1 | 81172
Good answer, however this type of question is completely legit...and something that I imagine a lot of people wonder about.. It's a shame that people cannot talk about this openly, with class, and give someone a sensible answer...no one here needs more guilt...we live in an repressed society as "Christians" as it is... Some of the stuff people gave my sister and brother-in-law when they got married, had me rolling on the floor. You are reasonably limited in sex to anatomy and physics....as well as the Bible... When they are talking about the Bretheren, they are talking about people in a fellowship...what you should be focused on say at a church function...never mind who's wearing what, who's doing what ... blah blah blah..instead of stupidity, concentrate on the good in others, seek things that are pure, lovely, loving and honest to speak about with fellow Believers...this has NOTHING to do with sex and a marriage relationship...if you are single, I think things may pretty well take care of themselves...in your sleep. Don't worry ... God made as we are...He knows about sex, the Bible says He was tempted in all things common to man...do you think he was never tempted? He was half man... Talk to a doctor, talk to a woman who looks delirious in her marriage..skip the ones who look like they haven't done it in years... If you want to find a map, you go to a map book..not a recipe book.. Hope this helps. J |

If you do it with your husband...any activity you both enjoy is blessed...regardless of what some of these folks will tell you...I would like to see some of their "scripture" references on sexual behaviours amongst married people..read the Songs of Solomon...Hot stuff! |

9 | is naked picture of your spouse wrong | Phil 4:8 | Jeanne1 | 81169
1 Corinthians 7 2But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. 3The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. 5Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 33But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world--how he can please his wife-- But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world--how she can please her husband. It would seem that this is a very serious issue, and one that should be addressed always...we are commanded to do whatever is necessary to keep our spouses pure, and focused only the body God gave to them as a partner...when you find that partner, no one may tell you how to enjoy one another...you are made for each other and no one else...as long as you act in love, and all activites are consensual....go nuts!! You will find that the closer and more active your sex lives, the closer and more devoted you are to each other...it's as intimate as you will ever get with another person..do what you want. |

10 | is naked picture of your spouse wrong | Phil 4:8 | Jeanne1 | 81160
You people are unreal..do you think sex is only one way? Am I glad I am not married to you!! Boring!!! Who needs to see a Polaroid? Are you passing around a parties? Who's hands are they liable to fall into? He can always tear it up, burn it, whatever, if that's a concern. The scripture above is talking to the BRETHREN not husbands and wives...go to Corinthians..you might get a healthier view of marriage and sex. What you do with your husband, CONSENUALLY is no one else's business.. Flash away, jazz up your sex life..keep it going..I know elderly people who are still having a wonderful time..do you think there is a limit on sex due to age, place, how about the weather? The Bible commands us NOT to stop unless it is consensual and only upon agreement between the two people for prayer...That's it...check Corinthians. If your desire has gone kaput...see your doctor!! |

11 | is naked picture of your spouse wrong | Phil 4:8 | Jeanne1 | 81157
You better hope your husband wants to see you naked, if not why not? If he sees you...chances are he won't be looking at anyone else...there's nothing wrong with lusting after you wife...what do you think "your DESIRE will be for you husband" means...it's only one way? Men should lust after their wives...what a great idea! Imagine how good wives would feel if they knew they could make their husbands crazy...Too many husbands are asleep at the switch..sex was given by God to provide a soul tie, and a bond between married people like no other. What married people do consensually in the privacy of their own homes, which is respectful to one another, is NO ONE'S BUSINESS...who fed you this guilt stuff? Have some fun..buy perfume..get some jazzy underthings, have a good time...he's yours...you are his...the NT says we do not have control over our bodies but rather our spouses...I am sure you-know-who will correct me, however, he spends so much on here, I am sure it's not a relevant issue to him!! Go have some fun! J |

John, Here is something you can print out, and just leave by your desk.. I know that poetry can be hokey, but sometimes a sweet word does it.. God Bless you! I asked the Lord to bless you As I prayed for you today To guide you and protect you As you go along your way.... His love is always with you His promises are true, You know in all our struggles He will see us through So when the road you're traveling on Seems difficult at best Take a moment, say a prayer And God will do the rest. |

I am a mother of a brood, all grown thank God! Now it's grandchildren...bunch of little let me tell you. I believe when you give birth, it hurts so much you learn to empathize with all kinds of pain in people...Jesus sure did. He felt everything didn't He? I think it would be better if we learned to love one another, cared for each other, and did that more than anything else. What's your Dad's first name? I belong to a prayer group and we email each other prayer requests every Wed. We NEVER reveal anything, and if you want I can certainly put your Dad on our "hit" list, as well as you. It's really hard, I know..I have a friend who just lost his Dad, in fact the funeral is this morning.. just before he died he became a Christian..we are talking hours here. It was amazing as they are Chinese, and were also Catholic converts. Quite a story. My friend's wife is Japanese and her parents are getting up there too...and they don't know the Lord either. When my "gang" all became Christians, we came from a variety of backgrounds and a friend of mine's mother was convinced he was going to shave his head and sell flowers at the airport..it was hoot! We have all remained in the faith over the years, but as you know life takes you many places. WE are all geographically far apart now, however, we still all pray, just like we did when we became Christians..we used to fast and pray every Wed., meet after work for a Bible Study, pray off our list, - we'd tick off the answers, God said...we believed..we were so innocent back then, and then go eat. The answers we had to prayer were absolutely amazing - however we didn't know anything but to just ask and receive. The elders in our church were very wise also...never "told" us what to do, just gently guided us when we had questions...we should have such wise people today. Have faith, your Dad's not gone yet...perhaps God is keeping him here for a reason...who knows? We shall do what we are commanded to do, and pray for your Dad, and love on another. J |

20 | Is speaking in tongues for today? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jeanne1 | 81039
This is a very good question, as there is an entire denomination based upon this very thing. I wondered about this "tongues" thing and decided to have a look in the Word, as a friend of mine, when she was VERY ill, had someone pray for her, and he apparently did it in "tongues". I cannot find anything except that each time it occurred in the NT, it was only so that people who heard it understood the message that was being said, or in one case, so that the person hearing the message would know it was for real as they knew the person speaking in another "tongue" could not speak the language they were speaking in. I could only find 3 references to it in the Word. I guess it could be for today, if it is needed...God doesn't seem to have any rules about not doing things today, we have the other gifts. It frightens me when people get dogmatic about stuff like this, and base a whole belief system around it. I went to a church as a child with my gentile father, where people were doing this in the church all the time, and molesting their kids at home...It was a big status thing to "speak in tongues" and you were not considered "saved" until you had done it...frankly it gave me the creeps, and I stayed away from anything like that, until the story with my girlfriend and the man who prayed for her. He is a policeman, VERY sane and grounded...it REALLY surprised me to hear that it had happened..she told me she didn't feel creepy about it and then we got into looking into the Word for confirmation about this. That's when I found the 3 scriptures, and the qualifiers. Thoughts? |
