1 | Ever Doubt God's Existence? | Not Specified | Janice C. | 78102
Anyone out there ever doubt God's existence? Just one day and for no reason, the thought entered my mind that is there really a God and, if so, who created Him? In all my adults years, the thought never entered my mind to doubt God's existence until a few months ago. What happened? Are there any scriptures that teach God can cause one to have a change of heart or become a nonbeliever in our Maker? I am deeply worried. I still attend worship service because for the most part, I do and want very much to believe in His existence. Any encouragment will be so much appreciated. Atheist need not reply.

Steve, thank you. I've heard a little on the Aprocypha, but want to research it more. You say they were rejected as uninspired, who had the authority to decide and reject them as being uninspired? Shouldn't God only have that power? Regarding the information on Jehovah, I will forward the information you provided to some family members I recently had a discussion with on this issue. You have been very helpful. Thank you again, Steve, and God bless you, sir.

Amen and greetings to you, Brother Mommapbs, and thank you. Correction on my message, I meant to say, "If God says IT..." I am so happy to find this Forum, and to read the questions and comments finding out not everyone agrees with the sins and ways of the world we are facing today. The Bible teaches us in the last days we will see the signs that are happening before us everyday. "Repent, for Christ is at hand." God bless you, sir.
11 | Justify Leviticus 20:13 | Lev 20:13 | Janice C. | 62644
If the Bible says, I believe it, and that settles it. There is no such thing as a "modern" Christian--God clearly tells us: He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Therefore, we cannot revise or modernize His word to fit the lifestyle we desire. God has not and will not change his views and commandments to go along with the ways of the world we are so sadly faced with today. Be advised, Leviticus IS the "word of the Lord" as are all the other books of the Bible. Please do not be mislead about religion--it is NOT merely a way of controlling independent thought. God allows us to choose and live our lives as we so choose. BUT, be prepared to face the wrath of God for a lifestyle not in accordance with His will. For those who preach the "word of the Lord" please continue to do so by letting the ONE and ONLY Book given to us by God almighty, be your only source of information, and teach strictly in accordance therewith. If the Bible says, I believe it, and that settles it. Thank you. JC
12 | Verses as proof for an essay? | Lev 20:13 | Janice C. | 62641
Amen! Yes, through the blood of Christ, we can receive forgiveness, but remember: "Lest ye repent, you shall likewise perish." So, you MUST repent or be lost. Can a murderer continue to murder? Can a thief continue to steal? Can a drunkard continue to be unsober? Can an adulterer continue with adultery? No more than a homosexual can continue to live an unnatural homosexual lifestyle. God clearly tells us a child is born without sin so there is no such thing as being born a homosexual--it is clearly a lifestyle by choice. Why would God create a homosexual child, and then condemn him for it later? He would not. Thank you. JC

Hi, Ed. No, I am not of the Jehovah Witness faith, but belong to the Church of Christ. To the best of my understanding, Jehovah Witness do not believe in hell fire at all, and eternal punishment is the grave with no fire. My response said, a place has been prepared for us "... until day of judgment" and "hell will be eternal punishment for those who are lost". The Bible is very clear on hell fire and burning--in my understanding of it. I have asked for the scriptures some family members have quoted on this subject, and will post them upon receipt of same. Thank you.

Yes, God loves all... that is... all who obey His commandments to which God condemns homosexuality. Read 1 Corinthians, 1 Timothy and Jude. JC
15 | Verses as proof for an essay? | Lev 20:13 | Janice C. | 62620
To the best of my understanding, you won't find any such scriptures refuting what you found on Westboro church's website. You say you cannot find any scriptures to refute them, but know there are lots. I may be misunderstanding your comment here, but there is NOT one scripture in the New King James version of the Bible that permits homosexuality. In fact, Leviticus is not the only Book that condemns homosexuals. The New Testament book of Jude: "Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire" and I Corinthian lists all those who will NOT enter the Kingdom of God to which homosexuals being one of them. Also, even the Old Testament book of Genesis speaks against homosexuals where God destroyed the entire cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their immoral sexual acts. So, my questions are: if there are lots of scriptures contradicting other scriptures on homosexuality, where are they, and why would God comdemn homosexuals in one scripture, and permit them in another? I don't mean to be sarcastic by this, but I feel you are wasting your time if you think you will find scriptures where God will allow homosexuals in Heaven. You may want to consider reversing your essay mission of refuting Westboro, and provide other scriptures that back them up. Homosexuality is an unnatural sexual act, and a sin against nature. Yes, one can get forgiveness for their sins, but MUST repent of them from that point forward. Ask God for guidance, and search the Bible yourself.... "Ask, and ye shall receive". Currently, I am reading and studying the New Testament for myself, and I could be wrong about this, but I have not found or heard the word "hell" being translated to mean a holding place for those who died before Christ. There may very well be such a scripture in the Bible, I just have not come across it or ever heard a preacher quoting the scripture. It is my understanding according to scripture, God has prepared a place for each of us until day of judgement. My aunt perceives it as "like you are sleeping." Also, based on my understanding of the New Testament, hell is eternal punishment for those who do not obey His commandments, and are lost. Will you take advantage of free Bible lessons? If so, please write: P.O. Box 228, Benton, Ky 42025 providing your name and addres, and asking to be added to their free Bible lesson mailing list. You are even provided with a postage paid return envelope with each lesson. Good luck with your search, and God bless you. JC

20 | can you lose your salvation? | Gen 1:1 | Janice C. | 62607
Yes, you can lose salvation--the Bible teaches this. "Lest ye repent, you shall likewise perish." and "Obey my commandments....". If you repent and obey His commandments to the very best of your ability, you won't lose your salvation. Yes, everyone "Falls short to the glory of God...."--something along these lines, which is why we are taught to continuously pray asking for forgiveness and strength to repent. "Returning to a life of sin is like a dog returning to his vomit." You MUST repent and remain a follower of Christ! Yes, Christ was crucified in order for us to receive forgiveness of sins, but in NO way is this a license to intentionally and continually break His commandments. Obeying His commandments are requirements for our salvation, not options or suggestions. One cannot intentionally break His commandments with the forethought in mind of asking for forgiveness after the fact. Remember, God knows your mind and heart. There are scriptures giving us examples of those who fell from grace. No where in the Bible will you find, once saved always saved. This is my understanding of the scriptures, but pray about it, asking Him for wisdom, and He will answer.... "Ask, and ye shall receive". Then, search the scriptures for answers. Will you take advantage of free Bible lessons? If so, please write: P.O. Box 228, Benton, Ky 42025 providing your name and address, and ask to be added to their free Bible lesson list. You are provided with a postage paid return envelope with each lesson. Won't you and others who read this message take advantage of these free Bible lessons? God bless you all.--JC
