1 | How do I deal with Hatred toward God? | Bible general Archive 1 | HHannaJr | 36399
This will take some time for you to accomplish, but allow God's Word to do the talking. Take verses on God's love, God's thoughts toward us, God care and compassion, and God's being slow to anger toward us. Cut and paste these verses into a letter form and present these verses (with references) to your friend. Ask him or her to just read these verses. Allow the double edged sword of The Word of God to quicken this person's heart. Each person inside knows that they are dirty and sinful. This manifests itself in the form of hatred and disbelief in God, including Jesus Christ. How?, we ask can anyone hate the Lord Jesus Christ and all the compassion He shows toward us? It's simple, if you don't read the Bible, you won't understand God's character and His passion. Take these to your friend. Put several down and don't try to be an expositor on these verses. Allow The Holy Spirit to be The Expositor and do the work inside your friend. God's Providence and Peace be on you. Henry Hanna, Jr. (205) 823-1550 HHannaJr@Hotmail.Com |

2 | Help me please I am so alone | Bible general Archive 1 | HHannaJr | 36650
Dear Katie, In 1974 I was asking for the same help. I was so alone having been raised in a religion that taught me that Heaven was based on my own good works and that God would weigh my good deeds against my sinful deeds. What a crock! Jesus paid the price for all my sin. There was nothing I could hope to do to wipe out the debt I owed for all the wrong I had done. I attended a youth conference in Gatlinburg, TN after Christmas of 1974. I was exposed to the Bible for the first time in my life. I was a great big sponge and could not get enough of the scriptures and study of the Bible. I had to repent of the religious ways I had been taught to believe, shake them off and accept Christ on His terms, not mine nor my parents terms, nor the Catholic church's terms. Christ terms are simple - "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, both you and all in your household" - Acts 16:31 God Bless you in your quest and I will be willing to converse with you further if you'd like. 3 | How were you saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | HHannaJr | 36645
My name is Henry and was raised as a Roman Catholic, attended 8 full years of Catholic parochial school and went through the sacraments as a child. Religion was very important to me as I was taught that Heaven and hell was based on how I lived my life. When I attended a youth conference in Gatlinburg, TN., I was exposed to the Bible for the first time in my life. Great Bible expositors taught me that "being saved" was NOT based upon my good works, but my trust in The Son of God who already accomplished the work in my stead. I prayed to receive Christ on 12/31/1974. I never have regretted my decision. No, it hasn't been an easy life since 28 years ago, but I do have a peace in my heart that I never had before. God Bless you in your quest and let me know your personal testimony. Revelation 12:11 - "And they overcame him who had the power of death by the Blood of The Lamb and by the words of their testimony." |

I don't know why you are speaking of labels, but I am a big believer of "once saved, always saved" John 10:28 "And I give unto them Eternal Life and they shall never perish, neither is any man able to pluck them out of The Father's hand." Also see I John 5 :11-13. HENRY FROM BIRMINGHAM, AL |

7 | Questions about blessing others - take 2 | Matt 10:13 | HHannaJr | 28969
Good afternoon, ArtS, First of all, the Bible promises that no evil will cause you to be destroyed. Whoever it is that is "stalking" you on these Bible forums, try to disregard their comments. The Lord will cause them to go away, one way or another. Secondly, the Lord will take away blessings when we consistently disobey and disregard Him. God desires blessings on you as a believer. We don't know the extent of Christ's absolute love and cherishment. If we did, then we would not allow anything to come between us and the Lord. Be encouraged today, In Christ's Name, HHannaJr - Birmingham, AL |

8 | Catholics and Heaven??? | Eph 2:8 | HHannaJr | 28886
To Hank my reference to some Catholics, it is not based upon those who are just pew sitters. Yes, you are right. Every denomination has people within their church rolls that are not saved, they believe only with their heads and not in their hearts. It has been said that there is only 18 inches between heaven and hell. The same distance between your head and your heart. Jesus meant what He said that you MUST be Born Again and many refuse to believe in their heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour. This then is the crucial question, not whther they are "pew sitters". HHannaJr - Birmingham, AL |

9 | Muselim Religious | Eph 2:8 | HHannaJr | 28883
The Islamic religion is a religion of "works", compared to Christianity which is based on our faith, not of works. The Koran is their "Bible" and is a book that is filled with violent overtones, the annialation of other religious beliefs, and their peoples. As a religion, their followers are reaching toward God. Christianity is God reaching down to us. The next time you are in a Christian bookstore, ask for a copy of Dr. Walter Martin's book entitled "Kingdom of The Cults" - an excellent reference on the Muslim religion and other cult groups across our country. I hope that this helps - HHannaJr - Birminghanm, AL |

10 | Will I go to heavan | Eph 2:8 | HHannaJr | 28877
Like you, I accepted Christ when I was 17. If you believe in Christ (with your head), what is keeping you from accepting Him in your heart? (The New Birth), meaning you will have a "personal relationship" with Christ when you are born again. John chapter 3 is written about Nicodemus - a religious leader in his community. Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again by the Spirit of God. Ask yourself, "Is there anything at this point in my life that would keep me from accepting Christ in my HEART? If there isn't anything that would stop you, Pray this prayer: "Father, God - I believe in my heart that Christ your Son gave His life in my place. I accept His love and His death to pay for every sin that I have committed in your sight. I cannot save myself - I accept that fact. Christ is the only payment for my sins. I now ask Christ to come into my life, take care of the sin in my life, and make me the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you! Thank You, Jesus - you took my place, you paid the penalty of sin that I owed! Amen. God Bless you in your "New Birth" HHannaJr - Birmingham, AL |

11 | Catholics and Heaven??? | Eph 2:8 | HHannaJr | 28874
I was saved as a 17 year old having been Catholic myself. 27 years later, I have learned that many Catholics are saved, many are not. Those that are, like myself have come to Christ on a personal basis, repented from sins that I had not confessed before, and received Christ as my ONLY pathway to Heaven. Catholics must come to Christ like everyone else does - in humility, totally inept of saving ourselves, not by works nor by religious righteousness. We are totally depraved and Christ is the only One Who can save us from the wages of sin. Some Catholics have done this. There are millions upon millions who have not. Read I John 5:11-13. That nails the coffin shut on this issue. Hope this helps you - HHannaJr - Birmingham, AL
12 | Are Catholics saved because of religion? | Eph 2:8 | HHannaJr | 28871
Catholics are like everyone else - they have to come to Christ on an individual basis. There are certain doctrines of the Catholic (Universal) Church that are not scriptural. They believe in salvation by works and faith, not by faith alone. See Ephesians 2:8-9 and Titus 3:5. They also believe that Jesus is not The Only mediator between God and man. They also believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is also a mediator. The Catholic Church also does not allow their church leaders, or priests, to get married. The apostle Paul called that a "doctrine of demons". But, even though the church in Rome, Italy has these doctrinal differences -and there are more than what I have stated), each individual Catholic must accept Christ as their own Lord and Saviour. "You must be born again", John wrote. Ask your roommate to consider her own relationship with God - NOT her relationship with the church. She must receive Christ on her own. The Catholic Church cannot do that for her. I hope this helps |

13 | Why is the NT translated from greek? | Eph 2:8 | HHannaJr | 28865
Even though the people in general were pagan, nevertheless the language and customs of the day were Greek. Not all of the Greek Romans were in hardy approval of the multi- deistic religions of the day. Now, As a former Roman Catholic - there are many who choose to stay in the Cathoilic Church. These folks are born agin of the Spirit of God. They know Christ and these Catholics are surprisingly hardy evangelists. The Roman Catholic Church however, does not follow many scriptural principles, such as the new birth, marriage, etc. More later....HHannaJr |

14 | Worship and Bible Study: Can we do both? | NT general Archive 1 | HHannaJr | 28800
Good morning EdB. I have been involved with both fundamentalists and charismatics over the past 27 years. Many fundamentalists that I know are sticklers for precedents in the Bible. They do not follow the charismatic movement because many Sprit filled believers are not Biblically minded. They are "experiencially minded". However, I see those same fundamentalists and Spirit filled believers evangelizing alongside me. They do have their priority on reaching others for Christ in order. I also have many Bible fundamentalist friends who frown on Praise and Worship. Why? Why can't we be both sticklers for being careful students of the Bible and enjoy Praise, Worship, and the ministry of The Holy Spirit? I believe we can do both, but Christendom seems to be dichotomized into these 2 camps.
15 | Worship and Bible Study: Can we do both? | Not Specified | HHannaJr | 28793
In the past, Christendom has been divided into two camps: Either you go deep and search the scriptures (Fundamentalists)or you get caught up in the Baptism of The Holy Spirit (the Charismatic movement). Why is it that charismatics are not Bible fundamentalists and vice versa? Why can't we both search the Bible deeply and be able to worship and praise Christ "In Spirit and In Truth"? HHannaJr |
