1 | Demon posession or Personality disorder? | Mark 5:15 | ChildofGod1988 | 211952
I would also like to add to the list of examples, for those interested, Ted Bundy. As a matter of fact it was this man who converted James Dobson to belief in demon possession. As I understand, Mr. Dobson didn't believe in demon possession until after his interview with Bundy
2 | IF HE AINT REAL, THEN IM CRAZY | Not Specified | ChildofGod1988 | 210779
Hello fellow Members, I have a praise report. In the word we are told that God knows our hearts. We are told that He knows that which is best for us. And he promises to do what is best for us, if we trust in Him. I would like to share a testimony, praisin God for His blessing, grace, and mercy. I recently went through a VERY difficult relationship, which I fully realize was brought about by my blind eyes and deaf ears, and it left me with nowhere to turn but God. One of my greatest desires is to find THE girl that I am to marry, and marry her :) Well after the relationship fell apart, I reached the point of saying "God I am letting you bring her to me," He was almost IMMEDIATELY faithful in bringing her to me. Not three months later, a girl from california, who is the sister of a friend of mine (whom I diliked very much not 6 months ago). This girl and I ended up going to visit the local water falls because she was bored( having been pinned up in her hotel room for 3 days). As we talked, I kid you not, without soliciting the information, she began to check off every item on my list of things I am looking for in a girl. Two weeks later after she had returned home, She was led to the Lord( I was blessed to be able to assist God in this), and two days later we began dating from 1500 miles away. Now our relationship has progressed and she and I feel that we will get married. She is studying to become a teacher. Well the program she is in, is offerd at a university in georgia, outside of the town my family moved to 1 and a half years ago. The school happened to also be one of the best schools for this program in the US. And PRAISE GOD SHE GOT ACCEPTED INTO THAT SCHOOL!!! I wish I could convey to you all the amazing way God has orchistrated this, but I feel that I couldnt even if I tried. I hope that this brings conformation, hope, and joy to any who read this post. May God bless you all, CoG88 |

4 | Similar Barak in Judges - Barack Obama. | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 210754
I realize that this Forum is biblical, however I feel this MUST be addressed. If you read the Post "Is Christianity becoming Christless in America," Mr Obama has CLEARLY defined his "beliefs" as that very same kind of "christianity." And also intimated that those of us who call ourselves Christian, who dont line up with him, are not TRUE Christians. I do not even begin to see how God can consider someone of such a reprobate and dead faith, as faithful. And now the VERY important disclaimer, PRAY FOR HIM, if any president has needed our ernest and sincere prayers, our President does now. God bless, CoG1988 |

5 | Need feedback on Genesis? | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 210581
You know, that is the second time that someone has said something of that nature to me. I will most certainly be doing my best to shine for our Lord. But I cant help but feel that there is something beyond the next four years I am being prepared for. I would appreciate prayer for a direction, and that God would give me some clarity. Thannks all God bless, CoG88
6 | Need feedback on Genesis? | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 210577
I feel I must rephrase my self, I didnt mean to imply that God thought that incest as we know it today was ok. At that time if we take the bible literally, then the only people around at this time would be the offspring of Adam and Eve. Therefore any procreation would have been done amongst family members. In fact there are some molecular biologists, who theorize, based on apparent degridation of our dna, that there may have been a point in the history of our existance that incest wouldnt have produced the defects we witness today. I realize that this is a biblical forum, I just figured that this tid-bit might interest some folks. Once God declared that no intermarrying was to occur it became a sinful act. Am I correct in that assesment?? I enjoyed that quote btw, CoG88 God bless!! |

7 | Need feedback on Genesis? | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 210575
Ahh now that is an interesting thing to discuss. Incest in the bible. I have always been under the impression that incest (as long as it was in the some confines as any other relationship, I.E marriage) was fine until God deemed it unnecassary. After that point you see that it then incurred punishments, and became a sin. Any insights??? CoG88 God bless!! :) |

8 | A difficult question | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 210513
With respect, while that is true in one sense, when speaking to a skeptic it will do nothing for them. I am not talking about what does the bible say of its self. I know what Gods word says. But the point is not MY doubts, but those of an unbeliever. Some people need facts, and the bible is rife with them. Historical, geneological, chronological, and scientific. People today are force fed the FALSE belief that the bible is nothing but myths, stories, and made up fairy tales for ignorant, lazy, fools who think the earth is flat and it is the center of the universe. We as christians should definitly be at least introductionally aware of the historical origins of the bible in my opinion as it seems to be the basis of many arguments that we encounter. If only to allow us to get past the lies, and let the TRUTH shine beyond. I truly appreciate the comments all. God bless. And if you disagree I would greatly appreciate your criticisms. I am finding that am beginning to enjoy philosophy, theology, and debate. So please critique away :) In Christ, AMEN AND AMEN!!! COG88 |

9 | A difficult question | Not Specified | ChildofGod1988 | 210451
Hello dear forum members, I have a question that is of an interesting nature (I suppose). After many debates (many unfriendly) I find that I am unable to provide a sufficient answer to this question. I have attempted to find a decent source of info, but have been unsuccessful in finding that or a direction of study. The question is this, in one form or another."How do we know that the bible is, bieng written and composed by humans, that it is from God, it is complete, and that it is untampered with?" I know that the Bible is what it says it is, and that God is in control of his word, but can anyone please provide a direction and/ or info on this PLEASE!!! I would dearly appreciate it. God bless every one of the members of this forum, and keep them in your care!! COG88 |

11 | Hosea and the significance of three | Not Specified | ChildofGod1988 | 209530
Hello all, I was reading through Hosea and in 6:2 It reads "after two days he will revive us, on the third day he will raise us up." I was wondering, this is another time (outside of the NT) where the three days is a theme. Is there any specific places in the Bible that I should look in order to find more about the three personification of God or the significance of three? I have always been curious as to why He reveals Himself in three persons. Thanks for the help folks. You are all a blessing from God!! COG88 |

14 | how can we minister to homosexuals | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 209401
Sir I appreciate your concern and sensitivity. However I think that it is within our ability to judge someones eternal state. If you see someone living a Homosexual life style, they ARE NOT SAVED. You can not live that life and be a Christian. I.E serve to masters. If you want to minister to a person of that particular lifestyle, my advice is to Love, with a Christ-like love, the person.(Not the lifestyle) And show them Christ. That is the most effective way of sharing the Gospel is to show them the Gospel with your life. Look at the parable where the man has a log in his own eye, and he is trying to help his friend with a thorn. I think that this parable is a perfect definition of what was meant by "Judge not lest ye be judged." Make sure that the measuring rod you use for others is the same length as your own ;) Ya know? Or don't tell someone else they have a problem when you have a BIG one that is keeping you from seeing clearly. And it is simple to equate homosexuality with the false prophets. To put it bluntly sir both states will get you into hell(along with any other than Christ) God bless. Good night all! COG88 |

15 | God Punished New Orleans with Katrina | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 209397
Ok guys lemme through my two cents in real quick. First I thank all for their replies and to the original questioner for their time and for what they shared. Second I would like to state that I dont believe that God punished N.O. with the Katrina. I read the thread and came across some interesting replies. One thing that stood out is that it was said that God deals with us the same today as he did in the OT. I disagree, I definitely believe that the times recently preceding Christ to today, show that. In EVERY way God still works. And with the Job thing. God NEVER cause any of what happened. Satan did. God simply removed his hand of protection. I dont have much time so I must be brief. Thanks for your time. God bless!!! COG88 |

16 | once saved always saved? | John 10:28 | ChildofGod1988 | 208699
Just a few comments, as this particular debate can get quite tiresome for me. I agree that nothing can remove us from the salvation plan, but I fully believe that we have the ability to leave that which we entered into freely. Acts 2:38, and Hebrews 6:1-6. Acts tells us the order in which we receive certain things. Word, Salvation, Holy spirit. Hebrews warns us against not growing spiritually, because it could lead to what is the saddest thing in the bible to me. One who has known the way, who has partaken of the Holy Spirit, falls away due to spiritual stagnation. I understand the Word to NEVER say that God will let go of us as long as we abide in Him, but it seems to me that we are MORE than capable of denying that which we accepted. I look forward to the replies, thanks for taking the time to read this. God bless, COG |

Hello my friends. Once again I would like to pick the minds of the members of this forum. First I would like to ask, and please forgive me if this seems blasphemous or uncouth, is the OT geared more as a way for us to see the outworking of Gods will leading to the eventual birth of Christ, or is it like the NT in that we as Christians should live by its standards? Second, does the bible say that it is invalid if there is found within it even ONE mistake? If so could you please help me locate where? Thanks In Christ, COG |

20 | Rejection means never knew? | Eph 4:3 | ChildofGod1988 | 206264
No sir! I don't think that John 6:39 contradicts 2 Peter. It cant. However, I do think that when God says "That all He has given Me, I should lose nothing," that we cant give up our salvation. Look closely at the language used."Should," "may". It sounds like it is Gods desire to see this happen. But not everyone will do what God desires. Not if God has given us free will, right? Read 2 Peter 2:20 please, it says: "For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first." I don't think that the false prophets were ever saved, but it speaks of those who had the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It still sounds to me as if you can throw away the gift that you have been given. And then the state you are in is a BAD one. |
