1 what is it to be an overcomer? Revelation docandlinda2 211531
Well I certainly feel even more blessed. One more thing that I get to thank God for. No worries, I will be glad to have friends in Christ to be able to share questions and thoughts. This site has given me Christian friends that all have the same goal of serving and uplifting each other and thus honoring Jesus. And yes a hearty AMEN to that! Take care.

Thank you so much, I will check out the site. It has taken me this long to even see your post, as my harddrive crashed several weeks ago and I am just not up and running. I'm looking forward to further study on this. Take good care and many blessings to you as well.

3 can salvation be lost? Rev 2:1 docandlinda2 210559
Dear Keliy, How embarrasing, WOW, I can be such a bobblehead, and evidently proved this once again, but even in my embarrassment you made me smile. Thank you once again
4 can salvation be lost? Rev 2:1 docandlinda2 210546
  Sister Keliy,
So perfectly said. I will read and reread this Godly council, that will remind me of who I am in Christ alone. Thank you. The words that you have given to me and perspective in which you have explained, definitely clears a few things up for me. I continue to pray for discernment in God's truths, and thank Him for having friends in this forum, like you that can help lead me to those truths.

Your sister in Christ.

5 what is it to be an overcomer? Revelation docandlinda2 210501
Because of what Jesus did to save me, I try to do His will by following, obeying and being faithful. but I am not always faithful, though I try and ask for forgiveness and turn away from. My sins are more reactive than proactive, and normally as soon as I realize, which is normally right after I do it, I ask for forgiveness. So I know that I am not always faithful, but my desire to sin has diminished so much, that I praise God for his grace in changing me. Nevertheless, I am concerned that I am not an overcomer. Please give me your thoughts. Thank you so much for your words.
Your sister in Christ,
Linda
6 can salvation be lost? Rev 2:1 docandlinda2 210500
Thank you so much for your response. It is so much appreciated and I love the fact that you use council from the Bible. I only mentioned Ephesus, because it was the first church mentioned.I did ask another question prior to this one that I wish you had been able to answer first, because in that one, i did type all of the different things that our Lord asked each of the churches to overcome. I do see where there were the things Jesus liked, then followed up with the things He did not like, but I was trying to keep it as short as I could.

I agree that the work of Jesus on the cross, through His death, resurrection and believing, confessing, asking for His forgiveness, repenting and following Him is the only way to heaven. His work and only His work is all sufficient. I have been a Christ follower for many years and have been so blessed that He continues to grow me in His truths, and I am still learning. However having said all of this, I am still not 100 percent sure of my own salvation, as
I know that Christ is sufficient, but am trying to find out if these churches who seemed the most faithful, as Smyrna and Philadelphia being the enduring church, it appears they are Christ followers, but when Jesus says to be overcomers, if they are not, will they be eternally separated. I'm assuming they are Christians since they were following Him? What must we do to be an overcomer and if we are not an overcomer, even though we have accepted Christ as Savior, do we lose our salvation? I would love your thoughts on this.
thank you again.

Your sister in Christ.

7 where is the joy of my salvation? Bible general Archive 4 docandlinda2 210295
Thank you for your words. I try to be careful not to blow my witness those times that I have doubt.
My peers and family and friends look to me as someone they can come to with questions regarding Jesus and what scripture says. I have read the bible several times since my youth and have been avidly studying for the past two years. I feel blessed that God has answered my prayers, creating a desire for him and to grow that desire for the rest of my life. He continues to show me His faithfulness and His glory. So I am hopeful that I will experience that joy in Christ. That is not to say that I am unhappy, I just know there is more. God has blessed me with peace in so many areas of my life, but satan plaques me with the question of "if you are truly converted, where is your joy unspeakable". Most of the time I can push this away, but I cant help but wonder why I cannot seem to lay this one at Jesus' feet once and for all and leave it there. therefore a saddness deep in my spirit. Then I add insult to injury and listen to "way of the master" Radio with Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort and am amazed at how many people either don't even consider Christ or just because they believe think that they are saved. It often overwhelms me with saddness that is so deep that no one sees it, but I can feel it. I know that David prayed "restore unto me the joy of my salvation" and I too have prayed this, however the joy I do experience I am greatful for. I just want to make sure that when I doubt or question my own salvation that this is "the father of lies" up to his old tricks.

Again thank you for insight, God's word, and your blessings.
Your sister in Christ.

8 What is considered work on the Sabbath? Bible general Archive 4 docandlinda2 210254
I'm still trying to figure out how to work this site. I have just read your answer. It allows me not to go around feeling condemnation all of the time. I will do as you have said, worthipping, praising, meditating and honoring Him to His glory. Thank you for your words of encouragement and scripture that I can refer to and build on my faith. God bless you too.

9 where is the joy of my salvation? Bible general Archive 4 docandlinda2 210253
yes thank you, i will definitely be referring back to your answers and scripture to restore my hope. this makes so much sense to me to confirm my beliefs then back them up with the truth of God's word. You are correct, I do need to be careful of taking one or two verses, even though it seems that those are the ones that stick out, but I do need to be careful. your words along with the scripture will be of great comfort. thank you again and God bless you too.

10 where is the joy of my salvation? Bible general Archive 4 docandlinda2 210252
thank you so much for your words. if you were to ask the average person in my circle of friends, my family and my peers, they wonder how I can stay uplifted most of the time, even through my trials and I then have the privledge of telling them of God's grace and how His strength and knowing He is in control of all things gets me through my day, even the tough cicumstances.

I'm emensly greatful to him that in all other areas other than the deep joy that I understand that a Christian is supposed to have, that He has given me so much peace about day to day living and allows me to draw on His strength during times of trial to remain calm.

But when I hear the stories of a few Christians that speak of the overwhelming joy, I start to wonder what is wrong with me. I begin to think something is wrong with me, then leading me to question my salvation.

your words give me hope that I am not a lost cause. i have talked to my neighbor, who is also a serving, loving Christian who feels the same way. I will share your words with her also.
thanks again.

God bless you too.
