3 | White Stone - Rev 2:17 | Rev 2:17 | Summerwind | 15697
Hey MstrdSeed.White in the bible refers to the righteousness of God.Not many bible comentators agree on this subject but have a basic tone of agreement- that of assurance. It seems that in ancient times a white stone meant aquittal. For example, if a man had been tried by court, the jurors published their case by laying down a white stone, signifying that they were aquitting him of his crime. This would certainly be in accord with many other passages of Scripture that indicate that Christ has given aquittal to the child of God who has called on Him for forgiveness and salvation. Romans 5:1 "justified through faith." The big difference, of course, is that we are guilty. Christ died guiltless and therefore we receive the white stone of aquittal with a name for Christ on it that is yet unkown to us. ...an eternal aquittal we gain through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.( Tim Lahaye's Revelation Unveiled ) Just another Look. In Christ, your brother |

4 | Rev 2:17 additional question | Rev 2:17 | Summerwind | 15698
I agree with the others and add that the 144,000 witnesses, from the twelve tribes, are set apart to be empowered by the Holy Spirit (Joel 2:28-32a) witnessing like the Apostle Paul or the Apostle Peter. Again, all 144,000 are composed form each tribe of the children of Israel. There will not be a gentile among them. If someone claims to be one of the 144,000, ask, "which tribe?" Hope that adds, In Christ |
