781 | jesus spoke to dead | 1 Pet 1:1 | skccab | 186483
Hi there Luke 23:43 Jesus tells the thief that today he'd be with Jesus in paradise. Don't you think Jesus preached the good news to those there waiting? OR at least said "I am He"? Just a thought. Blessings Cheri |

782 | jesus spoke to dead | 1 Pet 1:1 | skccab | 186492
I'm not basing my note on 1 Peter, that is definitely about Noah. But Luke 23:43 very clearly shows that Jesus at least went to Paradise. How could the thief be with Him on that day in Paradise if He didn't go there? And again, it indeed does not say (in words) that He preached to the souls there, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Isaiah, Daniel, etc., all those who looked forward to the Cross. But it would not surprise me a bit to learn that He did preach the gospel to them, or at least told them their time of waiting for their Kinsman Redeemer was fulfilled in Him. We will learn about it all in heaven at His blessed feet one day. in love Cheri |

Guys, The question was did Jesus go to the dead and preach the good news to them during the 3days between crucifixion and resurrection. I say He most likely did. See Luke 23:43. cheri |

786 | Why does Jesus come as a thief? | 2 Pet 3:10 | skccab | 188151
Greetings, CDBJ, I just read your note, it leaves a question or two for me: 1 - Are we talking about the end of the tribulation? 2 - If so, and all who are caught away alive (and who have died in Christ) at this time are changed (glorified 1Cor. 15) - then who is going to be deceived when Satan is loosed for a season at the end of the millenium (certainly not glorified saints)? There is no ordinary human being to have children during this period if all the living and dead in Christ are glorified after the tribulation and before the millenium . I always figured it would be the people born (to those who believed and survived the tribulation) during the millenium that get deceived during that last "season" that the devil is loosed. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but you didn't cover that part, or am I totally off in that area? blessings cheri |

787 | Why does Jesus come as a thief? | 2 Pet 3:10 | skccab | 188153
CDBJ, Thank you for responding. Ok, I had forgotten them, but aren't they sealed for protection because they will preach the gospel? How can they preach that which they don't believe? So they must become believers, if not before the sealing, then afterward. And if they become believers, wouldn't they also be a part of the catching away? So that would still leave no one to procreate a people that could be deceived in the last "season." I'm really trying to figure this one out. cheri |

788 | Why does Jesus come as a thief? | 2 Pet 3:10 | skccab | 188154
CDBJ, Hi again. I know our salvation doesn't hang on whether we get the timeline right or not. But Revelation had to have been included by the Lord for more than just curiosity and entertainment. I just begin to think a particular scenario works, then some other comes along that seems to work a bit too. Or do you think that's as it should be? just this close but no closer? |

789 | Are there any scriptures for the rapture | 2 Pet 3:10 | skccab | 188183
Thank you, Edwin, I enjoyed your post as well. It's strange how some things are so clear and others can be so murky. But one thing is very clear - 1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. I can barely wait!! Can you? blessings cheri |

790 | Are there any scriptures for the rapture | 2 Pet 3:10 | skccab | 188240
MRoyal, Nor has anyone been able to answer the questions I posted earlier that are left unanswered if the "rapture" or catching away takes place after the tribulation. Namely: 1 - Rev. 4, from this point on, the church is not seen as being on earth. Where are we? 2 - Rev. 19:9, Who, if not the church, is at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb? 3 - Rev. 19:14, Who, if not the resurrected dead in Christ and the living glorified saints, are the armies that return to earth with Christ? 4 - Rev. 20:7-8, Who is deceived, if before the millennium, all are caught away (resurrected or glorified)? blessings cheri |

Good morning, MRoyal I realize that they are not the 144,000, but if they are not the raptured, then who are they? Where did they come from, and they are elders of what? To whom are they giving information and instruction, certainly not the Father nor the Lamb? cheri |

794 | Are there any scriptures for the rapture | 2 Pet 3:10 | skccab | 188366
Good morning sweet sister I've been of the same mind as you as far as the rapture and the other events that are to take place. Mr Royal is pointing out another view (which many others also hold, I must add). So I was asking him who these elders were if the tribulatin has not yet taken place at that point in Rev. I thank you so much for your response, though. Like I said before, I ALWAYS enjoy your posts. continue in your gentle devotion to our Lord may God bless cheri |

797 | does bible contradict itself? | 2 Pet 3:16 | skccab | 195443
Shalom Brad, Thank you for sharing that piece from Torrey. It helps. I don't believe that there are any errors or contradictions either, but like Torrey said, sometimes our limited knowledge makes it appear so. Case in point: the genealogy found in Matthew 1 - it gives 3 breakdowns of 14 generations each, but the 3rd breakdown stops at the birth of Messiah which is only 13 generations. To someone new, or just reading with the intellect that would appear to be an error or contradiction. It is probably listed elsewhere what the missing generation is but I kind of like to think that the 14th generation is us, the believers who have been born into the Family of God by grace through trust in Yeshua. still learning Cheri |

799 | Sin unto death | 1 John | skccab | 202283
Morning Believer, I work midnights, what's your excuse for being up at this hour :-) ? Thanks that did help. So basically, what you're saying then, is that John is talking about the sin proper and not the brother (or sister) committing it? That I misunderstood, thinking John was saying not to pray for the person committing the sin. What you said makes a lot of sense (especially since we don't seem to know what the sin is). Duh, sometimes I'm not too bright at 5am hahaha. Shalom Cheri |

800 | Sin unto death | 1 John | skccab | 202286
Morning Steve, Am I understanding you correctly, that there is a sin that an unbeliever can commit that we shouldn't pray for that person? If that's the case, shouldn't we know what the offense is? What is it? I'm confused. Cheri |
