P.S. I forgot to add one thing, important thing: The reason the Galilean firstborn would eat this meal at the beginning of Passover day is because they would fast during Passover - according to that tractate anyway. :-) Cheri |

Sure Tam I'll be glad to. Weds 13th (we'll say 7pm is sundown) so 7pm becomes (to the Jews as good as) Thu this seudah maphashket is eaten by firstborns to commerorate the ones who were in danger on that first Passover. During the evening of Weds 13th into early morning Thurs 14th Messiah is betrayed, tried, found guilty and crucified (that around 9ish). Approx 3pm Thurs 14th He dies. (Also around 3pm on this day the passover lambs are actually slaughtered, what timing, huh?) Thurs 14th 7pm becomes the new day, Feast of Matza, and a festive sabbath Thurs 7pm begins Night 1 Fri 5am (this is our sunrise time :-) ) begins Day 1 Fri 7pm begins Night 2 Sat 5am begins Day 2 Sat 7pm begins Night 3 Sun 5am begins Day 3 On this do we know what time He actually arose? I don't know if we do, is why I'm asking. It is agreed by most that Jews consider any part of a day as a day - so there you have it. I think this is possible? The main thing though IS that He DID die and rise again and ascended to the right hand of the Father to ever intercede for me and you and all of us. Cheri |

Hiya Tam Fri am day 1 fri pm night 1 sat am day 2 sat pm night 2 sun am day 3 where is night 3 doesn't Messiah say "as Jonah was...three days and three nights in the belly...so shall the Son of man be..."? or am I remembering that wrong? But my main understanding is in the Fri part this was considered a sabbath - the first and last days of Unleavened Bread are sabbaths - not 7th day sabbaths where absolutely no work is to be done but sabbaths, festive sabbaths where some work (such as preparing the meal, cleaning a bit for guests) could be done - but the major things to not do on a 7th day sabbath would still hold true, such as not doing your livelyhood job, not touching a corpse, etc. So, I personally, have to reconcile that. Shalom Cheri |

Shalom to you, John Thank you for the encouragement. Yes, I am enjoying my studies for sure!! This may be one of Deut. 29:29's things. Seen and hidden? The fact that as far as the Word goes He fulfilled what was needed - and we believe this. Yes? so whether or not that is the way it worked is really neither here nor there as far as the BIG question goes - which is DID HE DO IT? The amazing unfathomable answer is YES, HE DID!! :-) Cheri |

65 | Confirmation of Steve's warning! | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 205941
Shalom bro, Guess he got just about everybody. The email that I got this time was very subtle, sort of asking for an ear or a friend (to one not already wary of him). "...be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves." Mat. 10:16b Cheri |

66 | Where and when did Gentiles originate? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 207808
Shalom homer4v, You've got it a little mixed up and little right. It was actually the Southern Kingdom aka Judah (Judah, Simeon within, Benjamin and the Levites within those 3 areas) that became known as Jews and the Northern Kingdom aka Ephraim (which comprised the other tribes and Levites within those areas) that became known also as Israelites but not Jews, and it remains such today. And according to the scripture that Steve shared with you, there were faithful from all tribes that joined up with Southern Kingdom/Judah (whether they retained their original tribal heritage I don't know, but personally, I would think that they didn't if they left the areaa that had been their inheritance. That's just an assumption, but one that makes sense.) Cheri |

68 | Purpose of Tree of LIfe in New Jerusalem | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 208213
Chuck, I know what you mean. To me, this is the hardest question - the fact that it's there is true and therefore must serve some purpose but in my little pea brain, it just don't make any sense. Guess that's why I'm not ruling over the universe, huh? :-) Cheri |

Morning Val, Worked all last night, just waking up :-) Rev 22:2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Cheri |

70 | God Punished New Orleans with Katrina | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 209276
Shalom Kcab, You said, "I beleave that God is only doing these types of things in the Old Testiment." See Heb. 13:8. We might like to think our Father mellowed a little bit over the centuries, but He's the same as He ever was. IF He isn't, then we have a lot to be concerned about!! As far as Katrina is concerned, I don't have an answer, except to remind you that the earth has been cursed as well and we suffer upheavals of nature turned up-side down. Praise God, some day all will be right-side up and as it should be!! Amen? Cheri |

73 | Do we have the whole Bible | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 210134
Shalom Confused, All the Bible is the inspired word of God, the first five books especially, check them out, and also the prophets. The New Testament, especially from Romans on, is mostly the Hebrew scriptures (OT) restated. That's pretty good evidence that our New Testament is OK'ed by God. Cheri |

74 | Do we have the whole Bible | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 210139
Hiya Doc, No, not less, not at all. I just particularily, personally like the words in Torah and the Prophets and the Gospels, "thus saith the Lord", "and the Lord said to..." and "Jesus said...", etc. That is just my Personal likes (?). Those passages never fail to give me goosebumps. All of the Bible is God's Inspired Word, and equally inspired from Genesis to Revelation. I just have my personal preferences. Sorry if I mislead you. Cheri |

77 | A difficult question | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 210454
Shalom Child of God, I may be repeating what Makarios has given you. But one way (it will take some work on your part) is to find a prophecy made in the Bible and then finding in an Encyclopedia the fulfillment of it. And keep doing this. There are far too many fulfilled prophecies that are documented as to the time of their writings for the Bible to be anything but from God! This is a study that I plan on doing myself soon, I just haven't started it yet. Sorry. Another way, is check with your local rabbi. It won't matter much to him that you are christian, if you show genuine interest in the Hebrew scriptures. He'll proudly show you the synagogue's Torah and give you many sources to read about the process of copying the Torah over the last several thousand years. Actually, you could have a lot of fun doing this project!! Cheri |

78 | A difficult question | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 210460
Shalom again, I just thought of something else, but you do have to use the Bible itself. How long ago did people finally figure out that the earth is round and not flat. Not very long ago, I don't think, yet in Isaiah 40:22 God called the earth a circle!! Hundreds and hundredds of years before the general population and astronomers got it figured out, all they had to do was read Isaiah!! Cheri |

80 | Are old words proper for Scripture? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 210637
I second that notion!! Huh??? Now, I'm very big into using the actual Hebrew words and names to the best of my ability (or Aramaic where applicable) but once again, huh??? What are YOU talking about? God told Abram "lech l'cha", nothing about singing. :o) And He didn't divulge His name until He spoke with Moses, only names calling on His attributes and character were known prior to Moses. Cheri |
