641 | where do animals go when they expire? | Eccl 3:21 | skccab | 191549
Hiya Hank, Why wasn't the Maccabees included in the Tanakh, had it already been pulled together by that time? (Historical years/dates escape me most of the time.) I just wondered cos one of the sweetest Jewish celebrations is chronicled in those books. Cheri |

644 | forgiveness | Matt 18:1 | skccab | 191360
Hank, Sometimes trying to figure out how to apply scriptural ideals to our personal lives requires stepping out of the safety of the boat and taking steps on the water. Sometimes we sink, sometimes we don't. But we always learn. And studying the Word is the point of this forum, yes. But don't we also need to be able to figure out how to live it? And we are not all as scripturally learned as many of you are - but you were once where we are now. Have faith. With mature fathers (1 Jn 2:13)such as many of you here on SBF how can we not grow? Cheri Shalom |

646 | forgiveness | Matt 18:1 | skccab | 191353
Hi Hank, I'm not positive, but I think I know from whence Parable is speaking - maybe you have to be female and have had to be on the wrong side of a hard fist. But I think she means that forgiveness releases the individual from the "natural" feelings of wanting to exact vengeance themselves. I've been there and that's how I read the post. :-) Cheri |

648 | Unbelieve | John 8:47 | skccab | 191202
Amen! Brother, You say things so much better than I do. That's what I was trying to say. There is liberty in the Lord that only He can bring and what seems like do's and don't's to non-Christians are actually want to's and don't want to's by the work of the Holy Spirit. Like I said - you say it so much better :-). Nice to have you watching my back, brother. Cheri |

649 | Male seed sinful, but not female ovum? | NT general Archive 1 | skccab | 191175
Hiya Restate I started to answer a few days ago, but I could not find my scriptural references (still can't). But here goes anyway - Women don't have seeds, men have seeds. Jesus was not conceived of a human male seed, he was conceived of the Holy Spirit by the will of God. The sin nature is inherited through the male seed for it was the man who transgressed by an act of the will in disobedience. Eve was deceived, Adam was not. (Notice that nowhere in the Bible does it state that the Holy Spirit even used an egg from Mary, only that she was "overshadowed" by the Spirit and conceived.) OK guys, if I've made a mistake - go ahead and correct, I'm a big girl, I can handle it :-). |

650 | Unbelieve | John 8:47 | skccab | 191173
Hi Begbie, Doc, as usual, is absolutely right. Listen to him. But I think one reason (aside from his given) is that people think that it is a "religion" of have-to-do's and cannot-do's, a lot of legalism. They don't know the liberty that's found only in the Work of our Lord. And they don't know that Christianity is more a Relationship than a religion. If they could see that it is a very personal God that we worship, and a one on one relationship that we each have with Him as His children, they'd come running. Cheri |

651 | find . NT.."call things that are not... | Is 55:11 | skccab | 191168
Hi Doc, I've had to do some major dumping out over the last year - happy to say it took me a few minutes to remember to make that connection :-). And I am learning that the Word does indeed interpret itself most of the time. Jesus Reigns! Cheri |

652 | find . NT.."call things that are not... | Is 55:11 | skccab | 191155
Hi imani5, I come out of the WOF group (I was in it many many years ago) and they love to use Heb. 11:1 and rephrase it as - 'calling those things that are not as though they were' - thus inspiring speaking words of faith and not words of doubt. They are not completely wrong (in some areas of their teachings) but there is enough error in their doctrine to be very dangerous. It's best to stick to what the Bible actually says. :-) I hope this helps. Cheri |

654 | Recognize loved ones in heaven | Bible general Archive 3 | skccab | 190842
Yes, Thank you Doc for that note. You always hear of your loved ones in heaven praying for you, but I had always had one problem with that. And that was if our loved ones could see us from heaven then that might cause pain and the Bible tells us there should no longer be pain or tears. But your note help clear that problem right up! Thank you again. cheri |

656 | Should Christian men wear a beard? | 1 Chr 19:5 | skccab | 190808
You guys just made it tougher!! First it was distinguishing men from women in the 60's and 70's. Then we had to distinguish Godly men from just men - Now we have to figure out Godly manly men from just Godly men???? Will this never end? :-) Just couldn't resist splashing some humor here. blessings cheri |

657 | You asked for a reponse, I gave it. | Revelation | skccab | 190598
RC The Lord gave me the best answer of them all. I'll know all things even as I am known, soon, but not now. That's good enough for me. :-) So, to start over again - Hi RC, I'm Cheri and I'm happy to know you. Blessings |

658 | You asked for a reponse, I gave it. | Revelation | skccab | 190595
RC, I'm sorry, we have had some misunderstandings; and we got off on the wrong foot. I haven't answered you in those places because the questions were rhetorical - not meant to be answered. I will no longer pose rhetorical questions on the forum. I apologize to you for that. And also, there is too much division of opinions on Revelation - and opinions concerning prophecy are hard to back Scripturally. My only view on that subject is that I'm gonna be right there with the Lamb wherever He wants me to be.... Cheri |

660 | Interpreting Revelation | Revelation | skccab | 190527
RC You said " I am neither a Pre or post Triber or Mid for that matter. I fail to see that if something has been fullfilled completely, why does it have to be done again, And I don't mean a double Prophesy as in Tyre which had Different time fulfillments." You make it sound like you mean Revelation has been fulfilled - that's not possible!! What are you talking about? Cheri |
