1 | shew thee my faith by my works | 1 John 3:12 | serenetime | 63638
teregram123, I hear what you're saying. I have done a major study on the parable of the wheat and the tares. I've broke it all down into the original language (greek). Actually it was on Matthew 13, which has many parables. On Microsoft word, I am on page 90, and I am still not down with the chapter. Oh, what an enlightenment. Faith and works go hand in hand. One has to have faith for as to do the works. Faith in whom you trust. In Matt.7:20, the word fruit is translated as NT:2590 karpos (kar-pos); probably from the base of NT:726; fruit (as plucked), literally or figuratively: KJV - fruit. NT:726 harpazo (har-pad-zo); from a derivative of NT:138; to sieze (in various applications): KJV - catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force NT:138 haireomai (hahee-reh-om-ahee); probably akin to NT:142; to take for oneself, i.e. to prefer: KJV - choose. Some of the forms are borrowed from a cognate hellomai (hel-lom-ahee); which is otherwise obsolete. NT:142 airo (ah-ee-ro); a primary root; to lift up; by implication, to take up or away; figuratively, to raise (the voice), keep in suspense (the mind), specially, to sail away (i.e. weigh anchor); by Hebraism [compare OT:5375] to expiate sin: KJV - away with, bear (up), carry, lift up, loose, make to doubt, put away, remove, take (away, up). OT:5375 nasa (naw-saw); or nacah (Ps 4:6 [OT:7]) (naw-saw'); a primitive root; to lift, in a great variety of applications, literal and figurative, absol. and rel. (as follows): KJV - accept, advance, arise, (able to, [armor], suffer to) bear (-er, up), bring (forth), burn, carry (away), cast, contain, desire, ease, exact, exalt (self), extol, fetch, forgive, furnish, further, give, go on, help, high, hold up, honorable (man), lade, lay, lift (self) up, lofty, marry, magnify, needs, obtain, pardon, raise (up), receive, regard, respect, set (up), spare, stir up, swear, take (away, up), utterly, wear, yield. OT:7 abad (Aramaic) (ab-ad); corresponding to OT:6: KJV - destroy, perish. OT:6 abad (aw-bad); a primitive root; properly, to wander away, i.e. lose oneself; by implication to perish (causative, destroy): KJV - break, destroy (-uction), not escape, fail, lose, (cause to, make) perish, spend, and surely, take, be undone, utterly, be void of, have no way to flee. Very interesting, Huh? I know this is a deep subject. But as regarding faith and works. The translation for faith in these verses is- James 2:20 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? KJV James 2:26-3:1 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. KJV NT:4102 pistis (pis'-tis); from NT:3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: KJV - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. NT:3982 peitho (pi'-tho); a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty): KJV - agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) conflent, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield. I really liked you question, and I apologize for not being able at this time to get into Revelations. I have to take my son to school. I am not finished, and I have a tenacy to be long winded. Talk to me, I want to discuss this more. Great subject In Love of the Living Water of Truth, SERENETIME |

Kalos I am not discussing the character and qualifications of Dr. Ryrie. I don't know much about him. I am speaking in a general sense overall of many. And I thought I WAS speaking on biblical inspiration! Sorry for the confusion. Serenetime |

3 | Who was the larges giant in the bible? | 1 Sam 17:4 | serenetime | 54791
Gen 3:1 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? KJV Like Edgar Allan Poe, The taming of the shrew, that appears to be the smallest of mammals, but is the most vicious of them all. Just like Satan which emcompasses the whole world through desolation and depravity and like the shrew, which is the greater? Goliath aint nothing to contend with. Goliath is just a stonehenge. Today we have much bigger giants to slay. Are you shrewed enough to stone one? Serenetime |

4 | how do tend to treatment like, judges 11 | Judges | serenetime | 52420
EVANGELISM DREW, I understand your pain in this. In Judges 11, how does this pertain to your situation specifically? Your son needs support from the church that you are involved in. What bugs me is that a church, meaning people in the church that are in a ministry specifically with certain individuals including children should be prepared to deal with children like yours. It just goes to show that churches aren't prepared by God for this. It is so sad. SERENETIME |

glory777, I dislike to have to keep this subject going, but like I said before let's get real to all men! If this does not take place , the it becomes very uncomfortable and they have to release someway. Gee, how does this happen? Masturbation! I know! I'm very tired of men avoiding this subject. Yes our flesh is weak! That's all the more reason is to release this way rather go out and sex with someone outside marriage. If you're married, then you don't have to burn. Give me a break, Paul had to do some releasing, don't you agree? The Father gave us common sense. SERENETIME

Steve, Do you have a version of the 1611 version of the King James, if so, RIGHT ON! So do I! I appreciate the letter to the reader in the beginning. Now if you and were in a conversation and I said to you that I was careful, how in the heck would you know that I was (anxious) except by body language? Do you get my drift? SERENETIME |

Tim, It is always a pleasure to hear from you. I've always appreciated and respected your responses on issues regarding scripture. But like I have always said that we have to work out our own sole salvation. Can we only trust others? Doesn't the buck always stop with us as the saying goes. We are solely responsible that we understand and absorb the scriptures first and formost on our own, and then rely on other scholars whom have studied for many years. Wouldn't you agree? Take Care and God Bless, SERENETIME |

12 | How are we to understand? | Bible general Archive 1 | serenetime | 47625
Hank, Thank you so much for your input regarding this matter. I have been questioning this issue for some time now and am a strong believer in going back to the original language as to get a better understanding of the scriptures. I understand what you are saying and I thought your point on McDonalds was hilarious. Regarding (1), there are linguistic cowboys who suppose they can drop by a bookstore, pick up a Strong's or other Hebrew-Greek dictionary, stop by MacDonald's on the way home and while they are eating a Big Mac become an expert in the ancient languages. But wouldn't you agree that even the novice should go back to the original language in which the scriptures were written as to get a better understanding for themselves and also seek out bible scholars whom have been studying the scriptures for many years? Because lets face it when it comes to where the rubber meets the road we are solely responsible for (KNOWING) what God is conveying to us. We as human beings are not perfect. Thank you again for your help! In the Living Water of Truth of the Father, SERENETIME |

13 | How are we to understand? | Bible general Archive 1 | serenetime | 47621
bravostarr, I am most appreciative of you input on this question. I agree wholeheartedly that we should rely on the original language in which the scriptures were written. I believe that when scholars retranslate as to make it easier for some to understand over and over again there is room for error. Just a note, that even in the King James version there is a scripture that comes to mind that I feel is mistranslated as to one word, which in my opinion can change the whole meaning of the scripture is (Be careful). Phil 4:6 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. KJV NT:3309 merimnao (mer-im-nah'-o); from NT:3308; to be anxious about: KJV - (be, have) care (-ful), take thought. As you can see the word (careful) in Phil. 4:6 is very much far off base from the true meaning of the original meaning in the greek. The word careful is I feel contrary from the meaning of (anxious). I would appreciate all to elaborate on this issue and thank you ahead of time. In the Living Water of Truth of the Father, SERENETIME |

14 | Who are we? | Gen 1:26 | serenetime | 46286
Dear john reformed and to all, I don't know how it happened, but the scripture I meant to put in was referring to Eph. 4:6 Eph 4:6 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. KJV I can understand why you felt that my question was an unusual one when pertaining to Gen. 1:26. Thanks for your input. In the Living Water of the Father, SERENETIME |

radioman, I am appeciative that you are here, but i have to say to you that you are being offensive and rude. This has been a normality on this forum for quite a while, and I feel "lets get down to where the rubber meets the road man". shouldn't we all be here for one another?? Check out what's going on in the world now? Shouldn't this be opening our eyes. In these countries where this is happening, we forget this is happening here too? Aren't we all here to learn from one another. Is it necessary to keep competing with one another? The Father's Wisdom is the answer, wouldn't you agree? SERENETIME

quietone, It says in scripture that John 16:7-8 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: KJV Acts 11:16-17 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? KJV If Jesus said he would send a comforter in this life, which signifies his spirit, then he have no control, wouldn't you agree? Hank, It's not always about scripture. Im talking about the way we interact with one another. If you think that this interacting is in a loving manner, then I have a problem, and so should other's. You obviously miss the point. And the fact is some on this forum always think their right. I'll pray for your unloving heart! Non of us know all! Hi Nolan, I would just like to say that by telling someone they are WRONG is harse considering we are all here to learn from one another in LOVE. Losing one's patience is not what Iesous (Jesus) would do, don't you agree? You may not agree, but this is a interesting subject to some whom are trying very hard to understand the true meaning of scriptures. Also some of us were not here on this forum a year ago and are not familiar with the previous discussion. You friend in the true word of God the Father of the Living Water, SERENETIME |
