101 | The question exists in Paul's Theology | Rom 9:18 | Pastor Glenn | 138296
Hello Nwells, I wanted to respond to your two questions: 1. “My question is one of our view of how God has mercy and how God hardens people. …Can a fallen man (meaning a sinner, before regeneration) do anything to please God? If he can - what can he do?” There is another question that must be answered first because your question implies that faith comes only AFTER regeneration. Is this what you believe? Heb 11 5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. If we believe as I do that faith comes first, then Heb 11:6 answers your question. If not then we cannot agree on this question. 2. “Second, you said: "God has no need for us to perish (eternal damnation in Hell)" If God did not want people to go to hell, would anyone go to hell?” Another scripture answers this: 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Also: Eze 33 11 Say to them: "As I live,' says the Lord GOD, "I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?' Matthew 25:41 "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: These scripture clearly answers your second question. God does NOT want people to go to hell, but many will. Remember also that Israel is God’s “Chosen” people, but all of them are not saved. Pastor Glenn |

102 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | Pastor Glenn | 138184
Hello Kalos, I think that my answer goes right along with yours. We must realize that all of these kinds of questions really fall under the larger category of "Is God fair?" God has answered this more general question directly in Eze 18:25-32; 33:10-20, and Jer 31:29-30. On Judgement day, I think that we will be part of that multitude in heaven observing in complete awe at God's ability to make "difficult" judgments look like child's play. God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

103 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | Pastor Glenn | 138164
Hello Kalos, You, Angel, and Searcher have made some excellent points. Adults who never heard the Gospel--why aren't they saved? ____________________ "...the real issue is not the opportunity to hear the gospel, but the ability to choose to sin." ____________________ I wanted to point out first of all that God's mercy and grace is mentioned countless times throughout scripture. One scripture that helps me in this area is from Revelation 19: 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her." I wanted to emphasize "...true and righteous are His judgments..." is the conclusion made by the "...great multitude in heaven..." (verse 1) Also, Revelation 21: 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." Notice here "...the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars ..." Would God place babies into this category? John 3 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." Notice here: "men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. " Would God place babies into this category? I don’t worry about babies going to heaven now that I know God’s ways. Now, as for adults that have never heard, remember that Abram had not heard the Gospel directly. So we can learn a lot by studying how Abram was saved: Heb 11 8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Romans 4 Abraham Justified by Faith Abraham Was Justified by Faith (1) 1 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?[1] 2For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."[2] 4Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. David Celebrates the Same Truth 5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: 7"Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; 8Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin." |

Yes One, I heard that the Koran claims muslims to be of the "chosen" line of Ishmael. It also says that Abram offered up Ishmael instead of Isaac. "a wild donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone's hand will be against him; " |

Thanks BradK, I like your comment: "I'm amazed at how scripture speaks to current events- especially in the Mid-East. We can be certain that there will be no true peace until the Prince of Peace either returns or is acknowledged by Israel as its' Messiah! " I am amazed at how many people still deny belief in God when we cannot get around that "Chief Corner Stone" (Jesus Christ) sitting right smack in the center of history. He came before just as God's word said He would, and He is coming again! Pastor Glenn |

107 | Bible ... be “a doubting Thomas."? | 1 Cor 13:8 | Pastor Glenn | 133145
"Now the tough part for us here on earth is to figure out what's NOT real. I would have to definitely include those deceptive acts called miracles by those doing the deceiving when those miracles DON'T meet the high standards as set forth in God's Word. " Exactly. By definition a "deceptive act" is not a "miracle" at all, but it is in the catagory of "lying wonder": 2 Thessalonians 2 9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Blessings to you too, Pastor Glenn |

108 | Bible ... be “a doubting Thomas."? | 1 Cor 13:8 | Pastor Glenn | 133012
Hello, Country Girl, You said: “Why do you think the episode of Thomas' doubting the resurrected Lord and verifying Christ's nail prints and wound in his side was included in our Bible? If I were to show up at your door claiming to be Jesus Christ, would you not expect to see some sort of Godly endorsement of such a claim just as in the first century? It seems the same principle should be applied to anyone who claims to have powers reserved for someone actually representing God as all Bible prophets did.” OK, now I understand that you are referring to “fake” healings, fake miracles, and fake “healers”. “Naturally you know my answer to your question frin James 5 so I won't address it at all.” No, I do not know your answer. Please address this scripture: Jam 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: Jam 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he hath committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Jam 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. If I must gather from your previous posts, you seem to believe that “Jam 5:16 …pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” … was only for the first century church. I am honestly not sure if this is your position concerning this scripture. “Why do you think the episode of Thomas' doubting the resurrected Lord and verifying Christ's nail prints and wound in his side was included in our Bible?” Thomas was without excuse. Jesus had already told them that He would rise from the dead. Mark 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. John 20:25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe." John 20:29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Why did he say “…Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Blessings to you too, Country Girl, Pastor Glenn |

112 | "beheading" in modern times? | Rev 20:4 | Pastor Glenn | 124778
Hank, I also like Jesus' words in Mat 24 as He said "...See that you are not troubled...": 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. He then tells us more: 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[2] and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. I think that emphasis needs to go on verse 13: 13But he who endures to the end shall be saved. As a nation, I think we really need to repent beginning in our churches where adultery is tolerated, homosexuallity is accepted, and devorce is rampant, to name a few. Pastor Glenn |

Justme, I now pray for your healing as in James 5: 13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. I cannot lay hands while praying, but I trust many others on this forum will also pray for you tonight that God will bring healing tonight. May God bless you richly, Pastor Glenn |

Amen Brother Hank, I also like the story of Daniel and the 3 Hebrew boys that learned science under the King of Babylon's best instructors. It was the fear of the Lord that made them 10 times better than all others. Daniel 1:4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Keep up the good work here Hank and all others here that continually defend the faith. |

118 | How was Jesus of David's seed/line? | Gen 3:15 | Pastor Glenn | 110961
Jon, Your question is: "How was Jesus of David's seed/line?" Here are scriptures: Luke 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: Luke 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 3:31 Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David, Luke 6:3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; Luke 18:38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. Luke 18:39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. Are you desputing some or all of these sciptures? Why? Pastor Glenn |

119 | Was Martin Luther King Jr. wrong? | Matt 5:13 | Pastor Glenn | 109803
Jesus whipped the money changers out of the temple twice. He called the religious leaders hypocrites. Was that similar to a peaceful demonstation march? A few year ago Rosa Parks and many others by law could not sit in the front of the bus. Blacks were cheated out of their lawful right to vote. Blacks were lynched and intimidated by the KKK and Nazis. I would not be surprised to find out that some of those under KKK hoods were regular church members. MLK came out asking "why white ministers were silent?" He pointed out to the conscience of America that closing their eyes to the problem of racism was not the answer. I felt glad when I learned that he had published many books even until his last year in 1967. But, I felt very frustrated when I found out that those books are out of print. Our schools have failed to create history studies from his books. Satan has long since moved on from racism to drug addiction, broken marriages, adultery, child molestation, and homosexuality in the churches. MLK was first and foremost a Gospel preacher. His message was based on Satan’s evil ways of his day. He would have spoken out against the prevailing evil of the day. So should we. The Gospel without the repentance message is useless. And no souls will be pointed to Christ until people hear a reason to repent. Pastor Glenn |
