542 | Why aren't the demons saved? | James 2:19 | Norrie | 12000
I would imagine the demons aren't saved because they were angels who rebelled against God, they already made their choice when they joined forced w/Lucifer. I also think the "world" in John 3:16 is humans, don't even go to animals. :)
543 | Why aren't the demons saved? | James 2:19 | Norrie | 12001
Believing is very essential but repentance is a major factor that is left out a lot. Many people do not choose salvation because they refuse to repent, they like their lifestyle, don't want to change it.
544 | Are there stillborn Christians? | 1 Pet 2:2 | Norrie | 16557
Charis, I agree w/you about "cheap grace". Most people don't know about repentence or what it even means, I know I didn't. I thought repentence just meant being sorry for your sins. I grew up Cath, go to confession, say 3 Hail Marys and that was it. To me all I had to do was to believe Jesus was my Lord and Savior, that I'm a sinner, He died for me, rose again on the 3rd day and I'm sorry I sinned, I didn't quite grasp the "sin no more" concept. How many people are in that same boat? It took years before I finally realized it, I just didn't know. The main change in my life was that I was listening to preaching tapes (Copeland) and following along in the Bible, went to conventions, but I still lived my worldly ways otherwise. I didn't belong to a church either, but the few I ever visted were basically preaching accept Jesus as your Savior, never did hear what real repentence was. How can you know if you're not told?
545 | 1 NATION UNDER GOD | 1 Pet 5:6 | Norrie | 19196
I have a 9 yr old daughter so we watch the cartoon channel a lot and there is an old Porky Pig episode where Uncle Sam is teaching him history and when it's over, he does the pledge and it is before under God was in there. Seems like I never sign out, have that place checked about staying signed in, but have to sign in every time. Is anybody else having that problem? |

548 | who is pure from sin | 1 John 1:9 | Norrie | 38075
I just went back a few posts to see what ya'll were talking about. Isn't what you're referring to is a sin lifestyle? OK, when we are reborn, our flesh is not immediately saved, that is a continual process accd to Rom 12:2, right? So can a person be saved and still be a lifestyle such as homosexuality? Adultery? Drug or alcohol addiction? Promiscious sex? If a person still has any of these sins dominating their life, are they saved still but have a stronghold that needs to be broken or what? When you are reborn, hopefully all your vices will go away but that is not necessarily the case, is it? Anybody can answer. |

549 | who is pure from sin | 1 John 1:9 | Norrie | 38081
I'm on a forum w/many gays who claim to be Christians. I guess that's a matter between them and God? But there are some that say things like David and Jonathan were lovers and shoot down all the verses that condemn homosexuality, in other words they just pervert the Gospel. But then there are some that really sound sincere, just maybe misguided, actually believe it's natural and are monogamous. So I got to wondering about them, which led to thinking about me too. I know when I first got saved, I had so many things wrong w/me that it took a long time to be delivered from them. I didn't quite understand repentance either. So I've always wondered, did I get saved then or later, it always bugs me. I know even while I was still doing things that were considered sin like pot smoking, which I didn't see was all that wrong, just illegal, or drinking, was I saved or not and why is their sin worse than mine? I decided I won't say anybody's not saved but the ones that are in your face and into serious scripture perverting, those I seriously doubt. How much time can you spend defending your sin and still be a Christian? I confess I'm powerless over eating, esp. sweets but I've still not got delivered. Pray for me! |

Oh, I thought the Pope painted the Sistine Chapel! :) You mean he didnt??? I knew KJ didn't translate the Bible, in fact one of the comments one of the men made in the book was can't God use a foolish or evil man to bring about his ways? |

Check out that site again and read some of the dinosaur articles. There could have been dinosaurs back then, after all, they are just overgrown reptiles. Remember before the atmospheric/climatic changes at flood, people lived 900 years...so could a lizard and they never stop growing...:) Levithan in Job is supposed to be a dinosaur. I believe dinosaurs existed, just 4400-6000 yrs ago, not millions and millions. :) Noah could have brought some on ark but they didn't make it afterwards, who knows. After all, the large animals, he prob brought babies. Full grown elephants take up more room than babies. :)
559 | Please explain Revelation 14:12 ? | Rev 14:1 | Norrie | 83986
I'm kinda doing this as an intermediary. A friend is asking this so I thought I'd get some good replies. :) Here's her answer: There seems to be a contradiction, but I think it is not a real contradiction, I will see what you or others think.... Revelation 14:1-5 does show the saints of God who were faithful to the Lamb of God just before Jesus comes, following Him whithersoever He goes. The seal of God is in their foreheads (compare to Revelation 7:1-10), which seal has the name of God, His office and territory. That is what a seal is. This seal shows that they are God's. This seal means that they worship God, and do not receive the mark of the Beast, or worship the Beast, etc. (See: Revelation 13:16-18) The message that they proclaimed was a pure message (they are virgins) described in Revelation 14:6-11. Then verse 12 says, "Here is the patience of the saints, here are they who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." These saints lived before the second coming of Jesus Christ which is depicted in verses 14-20. They gave the final warning about worshipping the beast. They are redeemed from the earth, they along with some who must be raised from the dead (verse 13), and taken to heaven with Jesus at His second coming, where we find them in verses 1-5. So what is the contradiction? This is my question: How can the saints of God both keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus? Does that mean that they are saved because they have corresponding good works that match their faith? And these good works are keeping the commandments of God? Are they spiritual Jews which keep the Law of God (which is spiritual) (see the reference to the 144,000 being from every tribe of Israel--Revelation 7:1-10)? i.e., the 144,000 represent the Christian church at the end of time, since they believe in Christ, which is made up of both Jews and Gentiles. It seems that faith and works must go together. Their actions testify to their faith, they keep all the commandments of God, including how to worship Him. Another verse is that found in the KJV, Revelation 22:14. "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Outside are the disobedient ones, those who break the commandments. (verse 15) Since the first four commandments of the Ten Commandments tell us how to worship God, then I would think that Christians at the end of time will keep holy the seventh-day Sabbath, while the rest of the world will be worshipping the beast on his popular day of worship, on which he deceives the whole world. What do you or others on this group think? It is interesting that the fourth commandment contains the name of God, His office, and his territory: The Lord God, who made heaven and earth and things under the earth (water)., etc. It is similar to the Presidential Seal of the USA. They belong totally to God. |
