261 | who is pure from sin | 1 John 1:9 | Norrie | 38145
So if someone exchanges the truth for a lie, no matter how saved they profess to be, it can't be so?
262 | who is pure from sin | 1 John 1:9 | Norrie | 38081
I'm on a forum w/many gays who claim to be Christians. I guess that's a matter between them and God? But there are some that say things like David and Jonathan were lovers and shoot down all the verses that condemn homosexuality, in other words they just pervert the Gospel. But then there are some that really sound sincere, just maybe misguided, actually believe it's natural and are monogamous. So I got to wondering about them, which led to thinking about me too. I know when I first got saved, I had so many things wrong w/me that it took a long time to be delivered from them. I didn't quite understand repentance either. So I've always wondered, did I get saved then or later, it always bugs me. I know even while I was still doing things that were considered sin like pot smoking, which I didn't see was all that wrong, just illegal, or drinking, was I saved or not and why is their sin worse than mine? I decided I won't say anybody's not saved but the ones that are in your face and into serious scripture perverting, those I seriously doubt. How much time can you spend defending your sin and still be a Christian? I confess I'm powerless over eating, esp. sweets but I've still not got delivered. Pray for me! |

I just went back a few posts to see what ya'll were talking about. Isn't what you're referring to is a sin lifestyle? OK, when we are reborn, our flesh is not immediately saved, that is a continual process accd to Rom 12:2, right? So can a person be saved and still be a lifestyle such as homosexuality? Adultery? Drug or alcohol addiction? Promiscious sex? If a person still has any of these sins dominating their life, are they saved still but have a stronghold that needs to be broken or what? When you are reborn, hopefully all your vices will go away but that is not necessarily the case, is it? Anybody can answer. |

264 | what is physical structureof the needle | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 38054
"There has been a lot of false teaching that there is a gate in Jerusalem named the "eye of a needle" which is simply not true." I didn't know that. Hagee was wrong? It made so much sense too. Where did they get that from? |

265 | Bad Arguments Against Calvinism | John 15:16 | Norrie | 37861
We were talking about this in Sun School. What does election mean, what is predestination vs predetermined. I think that all are elected, it's like an invitation to a party, all are invited but all do not choose to come.
266 | Crime/punishment in Lev? | Rom 3:10 | Norrie | 37237
I'm trying to find a study on crime and punishment, I'm already saved. :) I'm on another forum w/homosexuals who think it is perfectly acceptable to be one, God condones it. Then they always throw the do you think we should be stoned thing at you. I was just wondering what all God commanded stoning for. So far I have got baby sacrifice and those who condone it and let that person get away w/it, cursing your parents, adultery, beastiality, homosexuality, mediums. I get kinda confused on where the line is drawn on incest tho, even a man w/dil is deathworthy but not brother and sister, aunts, sils. Those just said cut off from, I'm thinking like ostracised. I was just wondering if any indepth studies have been done. I just got to thinking about what is the worse things we do. Seems a rebellious child got stoneing too. What were all the stoneing offenses?

You must have the same kind of crab cakes we have here-mostly stuffing, very little crab. :) Mama does want to actually go into Balto this summer to look up some relatives she hasn't seen in ages. One is her sil, they lived on the bay, don't know if she moved or not. The air would smell of crab seasoning there. Makes we wish I had some steamed crabs to tear open. :) I remember when we did that here, our friends would get all squeamish and go ulk! how can you do that!!! :) Easy, they're delicious! You don't wany any? Good, more for me! :) Norrie |

My mother's grandparents were Bohemian immigrants. Johns Hopkins will take over Balto! :) I guess that's a good thing tho because then the places will get renovated? I know that happened around Memorial Park area. A friend had some houses they renovated, my soon to be husband at the time was working on them. I sure would have loved to have one. :) I looked up on the map, Taylor Ave was the cross street on Perring Pkwy. :) Norrie |

We have crabs here and my mother is from Balto-she knows how to steam them! I think I had boiled crabs once. :) We have a camp in the delta here and my brother goes up and gets crabs whenever possible, we love them. I have to admit, people here don't know what to do w/crabs like there-thank God I had Balto. roots! Here they can't do soft shells right, they don't how to make proper crab cakes, just that deviled crab junk, tastes like stuffing. I remember my cousin lived not far from a place called Hales where you went in and they had seafood laid out and you get them to cook up whatever you want, soft shells, shrimp, fish, I loved that place! It was grab and go place, that was foreign to me, we don't have those kind of places down south. :) I got to where I knew my way around pretty good, but I haven't lived there since 80s, memory fading. Like I remember Hales was on a cross street the opposite way as my cousins off Perring Pkwy but can't remember the street-if I had a map...:) My aunt lived in area around Bel Air Rd/Erdman Ave. I just loved Balto. Last place I lived there was on Balto. St, shoot, it was so bad then the hookers would fight over who had rights to the alley. When I was a kid, it was another world for sure. We were in different time zone, Balto had daylight savings time, we didn't, 9:00 and it was still light! My grandmother lived in row house w/marble steps, people still had screens w/landscapes painted on them. We used to walk over to Monument St to go shopping, it was wonderful. I guess now there not much there. Last time we were in Balto, we drove around, Mama said it's enough to make you cry looking at how rundown and deserted it was. Too bad change isn't always for the good. :( Thanks for trip down memory lane. Bet you have some good stories as a cop, that should have been really interesting. Norrie |

Hi Curt, you mean Beth Steel is still in business? I thought they priced themselves out a long time ago. :) I was a temp. contractor, piping design. Usually we got paid a little more than perm. employees because that's all we get, no benefits but not there. I almost fell out when I heard what they were getting plus the benefits. Shoot, every so often, they'd get a 6 week vacation! One time I worked for the Beth Shipyard. One of the guys who used to be direct at Steel was there, I think he was phased out. I couldn't believe what the workers got either-no wonder companies go overseas! Fair pay is one thing but the unions were holding them up! One time I had an apt on Patterson Park Ave, overlooking the park. You could see all the way to Sparrows Point. Then out the back window you could see all the way downtown. It was just a dinky apt, bedroom, kit and bath but what a view!!! |

Curt and Emmaus, what part of Baltimore? My mother is from Baltimore and I used to live there off and on. Mama grew up on Ashland Ave in St. Wensaslaus parish, not too far from Patterson Park. I loved Baltimore, it was different. I worked at Bethlehem Steel once. My aunt moved to Frederick tho so we go there now to visit, maybe an occas trip to Balto. when we come up. She still works there tho.
276 | Hebrews 6:4 | Heb 6:4 | Norrie | 34315
There are those that would say he wasn't saved in first place, but he sure made a good impression, didn't he. I know of others like that too. Makes you wonder, they claim they were saved, then they throw it away w/both hands...were they or weren't they? I guess we'll have to find out when we get there.

278 | Good-bye, NIV | 2 Tim 3:16 | Norrie | 33096
Way back, in ancient times when I was in school, I remember them teaching that when you were talking about both sexes, you referred to masculine nouns, pronouns, etc. When you're talking about tigers, you don't say tigers and tigresses, lions and lionesses, etc. Why must nan be so stupid? Oh, I forgot, women's lib...I was a draftsman, when people tried that draftsperson or draftslady junk on me, I'd correct them-draftsman, I'm no woman's libber! That's the way it was before people became fools anyway. I remember them teaching protocol, you would say Madame Chairman, etc. I say to women libbers-get a life!!!

280 | Is there a difference in being baptized | Acts 2:38 | Norrie | 32933
A man dies and goes to Heaven. Of course, St. Peter meets him at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in." "Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart." "That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!" "Three points?" he says, slightly concerned. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its ministry with my tithe and service." "Terrific!" says St. Peter. "That's certainly worth a point." "One point!?!" he moans, now really getting worried. "Well, I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans." "Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says. "Two points!" the man cries. "At this rate the only way I get into Heaven is by the grace of God!" St. Peter nods and says, "Bingo! 100 points! Come on in my son!" |
