121 | A SIN TO FILE BANKRUPTCY | 1 Pet 4:10 | Glory Bound | 129876
Hi Ed. I am sure it is a statement of fact that "you don't think any true Christian can .... do this or that." Yet, I sincerely doubt that either you or I have the authority to make such a judgment. Wanting to correct something, and having the ability to do so is often two different things. We can easily look at someone else and say this, but often we can't see the light till it is turned on in our presence. I agree with you, particularly concerning non conformity, but there is a nagging thought that bankruptcy is one of the laws of the land, agreed on and accepted by both the lender and the borrower. Don't get me wrong. I'm just pondering that nagging thought. GB |

Was I presumptious in thinking that your point would be the first consideration of a "devout" Christian. I use the word devout becaust too many who claim to be Christians fool only themselves. GB |

I agree with you, but where does the moral obligation to forgive come in Ed? Likewise if we truly do unto others as we would have them do unto us, how can not understand and forgive the one who has no other option but to declare Bankruptcy, wash our hands of all our anger and walk away singing Jesus lover me? 124 | A SIN TO FILE BANKRUPTCY | 1 Pet 4:10 | Glory Bound | 130180
True. And Very wise. I have pondered this fact. It is the nearest thing to coercion. But I'm sure the thought that two wrongs don't make a right will come in there somewhere. I'm sure that Ed is advocating "total" Christian control. He is probably right, but it totally depends on the individual circumstance. One could advocate "total" and absolute faith also. There could be so many fewer mountians. Lord! I can hardly wait till the waiting is over. GB |

125 | If you live right, you are rewarded? | 1 John 1:9 | Glory Bound | 134338
I have often thought of the term "double negative" concerning such. It seems it may apply here. Sin graves the Holy Spirit. Thus it cannot possibly please God when a believer is disobedient. I would think that the only thing pleasing about it would be the believer’s faithful dependency on His son for success against sin. GB |
