1 Revelations 22:18-19? Unforgivable? Mark 3:28 Heyyoo79 142507
Blasphamy against the Holy Spirit is the only unforgiveable sin, but at the end of Revelations 22:18-19 it says, "...if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life...."(NIV) Obviously, that means you go to hell, right? I know that there is the arguement that any one who would do that is not really a Christian, but what if they were weak Christians and something happens in their life that makes them so mad at God, that they intentionally change words in the bible to get others to not believe, as a way of "getting even" with God? Is this actually Blasphamy against the Holy Spirit? I know these are crazy sounding questions, but I get asked these questions and I cant answer them without doubt.
2 Revelations 22:18-19? Unforgivable? Mark 3:28 mark d seyler 142508
  Hi Heyyoo79,

Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin: 30 because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

Blasphemy - to vilify; specially, to speak impiously:--(speak) blaspheme(-er, -mously, -my), defame, rail on, revile, speak evil. (strongs)

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, both by the wording, and by context, is to say that the Holy Spirit is unclean, or evil (vilify).

Ex 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

In being blotted from the Book of Life, this would certainly remove your share from the Tree of Life.

For someone to intentionally act as you described, I can't imagine them actually having a relationship with God. The only other place the Bible speaks of someone losing access to the Tree of Life is Genesis 3:22 "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:"

The one who removes from the book of prophecy is one who will not live forever. The redeemed live forever, therefore, this is not one of the redeemed.

I hope this helps!

Love in Christ,
Mark
