1 Wait on the Lord... Ps 33:2 Schone_LeAnna 234117
Hello Everyone, my name is LeAnna,

My question is on the word 'wait' used in this Scripture...I looked it up in Strong's and the definition was stillness, quiet, and trust. How do we hone the skill of silently waiting on the LORD?? Is it something that happens as we grow in the Truth or an attribute that the Holy Spirit builds in us?? I ask because I am a new Christian, and I find it hard to wait for things. But I want to live and walk in God's ways. So, can anyone help me with this question?

Thanks! LeAnna

I believe the keyword here is TRUST. We must learn to trust in God. It is easy to believe(head knowledge) in God but it is an entirely different thing to trust in God.

This trust is built on the relationship you have with God. As that relationship deepens and becomes more intimate our trust increases. It is a slow process but an easy one.

First we have to be committed to making it happen on our part.

We need to develop a prayer life where we set aside time to spend with God. We don't have to be talking all the time during this time, we need to listen as God speaks to our heart.

We also need to develop a time set aside to read scripture. The more you read scripture the closer to God you draw and the more that God reveals to you through the Holy Spirit.

We also have to guard our hearts, we can't let the same old junk come pouring into our lives and expect to stay attuned to the leading of the Lord. This includes what we listen to, watch on TV and Movies and things we read and seek out.

We must walk holy before the Lord (least as holy as we can be) while not shutting ourselves off from the world we are to witness to.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you as you begin this journey.
